It's about time, RCMP should have swung into action initially like this was a native protest of a pipeline. Fetch the hoses! I still can't believe those assholes went into a soup kitchen for the homeless and chewed people out, demanding food. Canadians waving a Confederate battle flag, also pretty unreal.

The children are the most negatively impacted by the narrative so it makes sense they would want to be fighting too but I do agree they should have perhaps not been included as there was no way to know in the beginning how things could turn. It stayed safe and more like a Canada Day event but it also could have gone south.
They probably should have left when the militarized pigs showed up though as they are the real danger now. Apparently they're even using tear gas now. Insanity. This was non violent until they showed up. They want to make it violent and they WANT a riot. That's what these cops do, they escalate situations, they want things to go bad so they can justify even more force and even more charges.

Kids have been negatively impacted too by all of this and continue to be affected. Thankfully the provinces have started to give in and most at least now have a plan to end provincial mandates, which are really the worse ones. In the end the truckers may not lift the mandates against themselves but they are true martyrs fighting for everyone else's freedoms. I think at this point they really should leave before they get hurt or completely lose their livelihoods. The police and government are only going to get worse with their force at this point. They punched a hole in the house of cards, now just let the rest of it crumble on it's own. End the battle while you're ahead.
And yeah, I have covid. Been sick for a couple days, got very bad for 2 days due to insane sore throat, now it's mostly just really bad coughing and I tested positive now. Originally tested negative when I was just getting into the peak. I'm double vaxxed, and all of my potential contacts are too. Kinda breaks the whole narrative really. This omicron strain is highly contagious and we just need to accept that we're all going to get it unless we live in an isolated basement forever. No amount of rules or regulation are going to change that, it's time to end the madness. Don't get people who are so obsessed over wanting to keep restrictive rules and regulations and watch people suffer because of it.
The main goal at this point should be making treatment widely available for those who have bad cases and getting the economy and freedoms 100% back to 2019 normal.

You really cannot (logically) have it both ways.
On the one hand, you want to argue that COVID is being used as an excuse to force vaccinations on people as part of your "great reset" conspiracy theory -- and therefore everyone should support these mother-trucking protesters who are patriotically fighting for the "freedom" to avoid accountability for the choice each of them made to not get vaccinated.
And now on the other hand, you want to argue that masking and social distancing are not necessary to protect people because you and your family all had COVID and no one died. I'm glad that you all had mild cases. But then you go on to say that all of you have been vaccinated! Well yeah... For vaccinated people the risks of serious illness are much lower even if they are unfortunate enough to come down with omicron. If only everyone would get vaccinated then the need for masking and social distancing would be much reduced. Maybe someone should explain to those protesting truckers and their deluded supporters how their vaccine refusals are damaging our children. 😷
It is also worth noting that kids have no control over most things; their parents usually do. As a parent, it was my responsibility to carefully put limits on what my children were allowed to do. Abdicating that responsibility would be "bad parenting" in most people's book. Implying as you do that adults protecting children from serious illness is some kind of child abuse is just silly.

The flu killed 28,000 in the US in 2019. COVID killed at least 385,000 in the US in 2020. That’s almost 14 times more deadly.
COVID kills the elderly (my brother in-law lost his uncle) and while it’s much less deadly for children they don’t always escape unharmed. My wife’s teen cousin, as I’ve said, had heart damage from long haul COVID. My daughters friend hasn’t fully recovered her sense of smell after months.
