Part of the reason is because the US dollar is weakening. Still, it's good to see that.

Everything from the US just got about 10% cheaper for canadians. At least at a wholesale level. Whether canadians will actually see this reduction at the retail level is quite doubtful.

On the flip side, canadian goods cost about 10% more for americans.

Aww crap, now I need to figure .71 for each dollar. You can only stretch those Montreal dollars so far.

Noooooooooo, stop! I plan on hitting up Windsor/Toronto soon for some speakers, and this increase/decrease is killing me...where's the best place to exchange money? Still just at the border, or maybe at a casino or something?

Any place you exchange your money will have the same rate.
They all have access to the current price of the dollar.. the border would be fine.

This isn't true... not all places use the exact exchange rate in cinverting money. For me, I always hit a casino thats a few miles away from the Massena NY / Cornwall Ontario border. You get an obcenely good rate, and you can play afew machines on your way out the door :p

Thanks for the backup. :) I think I'll probably hit up the casino, since I'll be exchanging around $700USD...

No. I've been to casinos. The price of currency is not subjective, this isn't the freakin black market. It is in all parties best interest to give you EXACTLY what the current exchange rate is.
