Pricenetwork.ca

It works well at comparing all the major (and many minor) online retailers across Canada.

I personally prefer NCIX - they're usually really close to everyone else's price, will match lower prices if the retailer is reputable, and the little extra you might pay is for peace of mind if something goes wrong (good customer service). Plus, no sales tax if you live outside of BC (unless you have HST).

But give Pricenetwork a shot - they can show some pretty stunning price differences. Their Deals forum is nice, too.

whats 30 seconds / 30 feet type deal?[/quote]

Just poking fun at the return policy... it's usually 48hrs + 15% restock fee and they cash discount all their listed prices

about tigerdirect,
their rebate system is inefficient, their american counterpart is (or was recently) under investigation for malicious practices in their rebate program.

Had some problems with NCIX shipping, they're not good about providing proper packaging (esp. regarding hard drives).

Well you could just drive to the US and pick up your parts and drive back, assuming that would be legal! There may be some tax or vat laws this kind of action would get you in trouble for. I dont really know how free trade works between the US and Canada. When I lived in Anchorage, Alaska, some things were really expensive due to shipping.

I wonder if you can just order some things from
www.amazon.com
Maybe from www.crucial.com
I dont know much about Canada, but you might find some US locations that might sell to Canada from states like Wisconsin, North Dakota, Washington, State, Chicago, etc.

That can be done no problem, you just have to pay Sales Tax to get it through Customs. That said, it's not really worth it most times due to distance traveled(depends where you live) and Currency exchange.

2 you can use
www.ncix.com
www.redflagdeals.com

Redflagdeals is a deal site, not a computer store. They do have lots of links to different deals at different places though.

Anyways, I'm a premier partner @ NCIX and their prices can't be beat (if you're a PP). I find NCIX to be the best of the places I've all ordered from (Tigerdirect, Vibe, Anitec, etc). I go through about $25,000 in computer goods per year, so I think I have enough experience to comment. 🙂

What do you have to do to be Premier partner... Is there a certain volume of products that must be purchased?

Only genitechcomputers has the Epox ultra board im looking for, and its 160~ dollars. jeez, they're asking wayyy too much for their parts.

It probably won't be for a while until newegg comes to canada ... I read on another forum that they are looking around late 2006...So don't hold your breath
