Same-sex marriage law passes 158-133

One thing that I haven't liked about this issue is that eveyone keeps saying "it's my right to get married", and having them say that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was unconstitutional.

The truth is that this issue has nothing to do with the charter. Marriage is not a right granted to citizens of the country.

I'm glad that they came to the decision they did, but they are fighting for the wrong reasons, or at least, giving the wrong justifications.
 
Yep... pretty sad state of affairs. Soon we will also have the right to marry more than one partner... if we love them, why not? Morals have gone right out the window now, why stop there? Hell, lets give all those sick animal lovers rights too. I know a horse can't talk, but if he has that twinkle in his eye, who's to say it's not love and that they can't get married? Sound insane and stupid, eh? Well so does a man getting married to another man. It's gonna open the doors for so many other forms of legalized perversion.

Pretty soon we're going to be legalizing weed and cocaine because it should be our right to use drugs.

believe it or not your thoughts are now a minority, time is changing and soon here in the US we will have the same laws. Oh and yes it is our right to smoke pot or snort coke, our government will be changing this injustice as well in a few more years. Im not touching your animal arguement thats just stupid animals cant concent to marriage. as far as pologmy, why not? if all people love each other there is no reason why our government should stop them from getting married.

I mean sure, according to you (DennyD), it's immoral for gays to have sex at all, but sex outside of marriage is also immoral in the eyes of many.
