Can you see a CRT flickering at 60hz?

I can't recall how many times I've 'fixed' monitors wherever I happened to be...quite annoying, IMHO.

Anything below 85Hz on a CRT annoys me!

Yes, drives me nuts, needs to be at least at 75 Hz so that I can look at it without seizing.

I've met people who can't see a flicker at 60hz and they tried to convince me that it's impossible for humans to see it.

To me, 60 hz is absolutely horrid and I'll actually break into a sweat and get sick if I look at it for too long. Even 75 hz is nasty. 85 is ok, but I can still detect a flicker from the corner of my eye.

I've had a few people that couldn't see it..most will eventually notice if I tell them to look it at 'sideways' (use their peripheral vision rather than looking at it directly)..

Yes, and it drives me nuts. It stops bothering me at 85hz, but I like to run my desktop at 100hz anyway.

Any CRT will give me an ocular migraine if i look at it for more than about 2 hours. I'm pretty sure it's because of the refresh rates.

LCDs FTW! I love my widescreen goodness.

I work at a school where every time I fix the refres rates on someone's system they ask why it's so much easier on the eyes. So I'm going to take that to mean that most middle-aged women can tell the difference.

I remember working in a computer lab and looking across the hundreds of CRT's, before the LCD's got put in, and cringing because of all the flickering...

Aside from the ones I changed it on, that is ;)
