Mustard is really situational for me. For roast beef, I'm going for the mustard with horseradish, but for a turkey sandwich, I'm more likely to go for honey mustard. I'll use the nice deli mustard, spicy brown mustard or dijon on nice German sausages, but it depends on the type. For a plain old hot dog, I'll generally use the yellow stuff (I'm a traditionalist).

In summary, I can't choose just one. They all have their place.

I like any and all types. It really depends on what the mustard is being applied to.

I voted yellow, cause it's hard to go wrong with plain ol' mustard.

Boetje's mustard is the best I've ever had... Completely outclasses all other mustards that I have tried. It's Dutch style mustard.

Other. I like horseradish type mustard, with Mr Mustard being my favorite. Delicious and cheap.

yum. horseradish and mustard. together at last!

can't believe OP has no brown/Deli in the poll.

wtf is this shit?

anyway, far too many types of mustard to pick just one.

and yellow? ....could be worse, I guess. still better than all types of ketchup.

I think they make some of the best Dijon out there.

they also have other varieties, including a course ground, I believe.

Mustard is yellow. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Mustard seeds are kinda yellowish, but the final color of the mustard depends on how it's made and what's added. The yellow "mustard" is that color because it's got turmeric added and lots of vinegar. It's the mustard for children and people who don't really like mustard, but want to pretend they do. Brown mustard is actually closer to real mustard, it's processed less and fewer things are added. The coarsely ground seeds are what gives it the speckled-brown color and the lack of extras like turmeric to hide the flavor gives it the spiciness.

i don't think you know very much about mustard.

but my confusion is in how you try to classify yellow mustard as mustard and everything else as "a sauce."

wtf is a "sauce" in your mind and how are real mustards somehow different from yellow mustard?
