also you didn't tell wht kind of ram you're planning tu buy.
i would stick with a 2,4c good ram and overclock this thingy (using a good cooler), as u're taking the xaser3, the throughput of air in the system is good.
this is more of a show-off rig, than a real meant to be bad-ass rig (sorry for that, just my 2 cents)
Converted SCSI? It's Parallel ATA, tell me how that is SCSI? And don't say "because they both use cables"
And read the anandtech benchmarks, it actually OUTPERFORMS the highest-end 15k rpm U320 SCSI drives in many of the benchmarks.
funny guy... 15k hdds main subject is to be reliable as they are meant as server-disks, so the speed is important but even more is reliability.
how do you think they got up to 10k rpm? it's 10k rpm tech from the old-scsi-drives in there (as i read in a review, and yes i can't back this up cause it was when the drive was very new and i surf about 384365 pages every day), with sata output. remember the 1000th of scsi disks? what was their size? x*9 (or x*18) gb.
speed-wise i'm impressed with the numbers seen in the link up there, as they are much higher as the ones i saw (maybe the reviewers i had the infos from fvck up).
i didn't know that he has like 436536 teras of space altogether, that's why i said better going with 2 160 or 200gb hdds.
and god damnit. it just were my 2 cents.
