Can you go one day without using something that has a laser in it?

I can. I think all I have is an optical drive(seldom used), a mouse(have LED backup), and a cat teaser(needs batteries anyway :^D)

CD/DVD/BD all have lasers. More and more mice are using lasers instead of LEDs. Laser printers are very common too. I have specific things in my job that have lasers as well.

Technically if you're online you've used a laser because of fiber optics. :hmm:

I couldn't, considering the Internet (or networks in general) uses a whole crapload of lasers in fiber optic transcievers. Sure, I could not use my Internet/Phone/TV at home (which are all served by the Internet), but life around me probably change in a catastrophic manner if all of the lasers being used were shut off.

Other than that, off the top of my head I can think of CD/DVD players (which I could go a day without using) and Barcode Scanners.

My computer does of course have a DVD drive, but I don't use it too often.

However, my mouse would kind of kill that; it's got an IR laser.

My remotes are all infrared. Mice are infrared and optical. I dont watch DVD's or blurays for days at a time. Most of my games have either no-disc hacks or are on STEAM.

I've done it many times.

Remote controls do NOT use lasers! The IR source comes from an IR LED which is NOT a laser. This is not to be confused with a diode laser which is used in optical drives and laser optical mice. Those (outside of DVD and BD) operate in excess of 700 nanometers which is infrared.

I've had a laser in my mouse for quite a while.... Logitech G5... >.> But assuming I don't get on a computer then I probably could avoid it all. :awe:
