I would only go for the diamond tipped sharpeners but they are over $500 but well worth it IMO.

In India, you can get a pencil sharpener for a few dollars per month.

And when I say "pencil sharpener", I mean someone whose sole job is to sharpen your pencil....

I work in an office with a person who likes pencils, not mechanical pencils, and she wears out the $25 ones.

There are tons of better solutions for me personally.
However, I need to find an electric oen for the lady in the office.
I got her a $25 one, and she wore it out.
Fire her, get a pocket knife, outsource it to Infdia, etc, hile funny, are realistic solutions.

Why? Seems like only one person is really using it, and she can't keep herself from breaking them. They're probably breaking due to user error, i.e. jamming the pencil in so hard the motor has to work twice as hard.

I'm not sure how much advice you're going to be able to get on the quality of electric pencil sharpeners, honestly. I don't think any of us have experience with enough of them to give you anything more than anecdotal evidence, which is pretty much useless. An electric pencil sharpener is a pretty simple device, I doubt you'll find much difference between a cheap one and an expensive one.

Edit: I have no personal experience with this one, but it sounds like they at least tried to retard-proof it.
