Sorry to be posting so much about ebay, but I've had some really bad luck these past few weeks (no, still no word about the pants, but I gave him 5 days to ship them or threatened to file a fraud complaint with his local police).
Anyway. I paid for an Auction for America item using Billpoint, and get another bill from the seller telling me I had to pay again, because "I wasn't supposed to pay using Billpoint." The item I won was a CD. It cost $2.99, and all Auction for America items should have free shipping (it was in the rules, and I sold some stuff to donate money to the September 11th Fund and I covered all the shipping costs myself) because it's for charity, so the total cost should have been $2.99, which I sent.
The seller told me he wouldn't send me the CD because I had to send $2.99 plus $5.50 shipping and handling ($5.50 for a CD!) to his paypal account. I sent him all the Auction for America rules, but he skirted around them. Finally, I gave up after one month, left him biting negative feedback, and he leaves me a negative feedback in return. Funny, he didn't answer my e-mails for over two weeks, but as soon as I leave him a negative feedback, he leaves one for me, too.
This is the second non-deserved negative feedback I've gotten so far (yeah, pants boy left me one too). Is there anything at all I can do about it besides explain what happened on my about me page? It really sucks, because it's screwed up my perfect feedback rating. 🙁 And I was up to almost 60, too. 🙁
EDIT: What also pisses me off is that this seller made other people pay via paypal (it was a dutch auction), and a lot of them did, apparently. The money that was supposed to go to the Auction for America charity didn't, because of this cheating slimeball. 🙁 He didn't have to pay insertion or final value fees, either.
