I ordereda Golden Orb from cpusforless.com last Sunday night, online, around 10PM. Common sense would say that when they got into the office on Monday morning, the next day, that they would see my order, authorize the credit card and ship it the very same day.

However, this was not the case. They didn't ship the GOrb until Wednesday, and I got it on Friday. So, all in all, I did get the GOrb (which is a FANTASTIC COOLER folks), but I was just impatient to get my machine running again. I bought a cheap HSF in town and it lasted all of 3 days. :)

Experience will tell you that if you buy CHEAP HARDWARE you will get exactly what you deserve.

Now running a Celeron 566 at 566 (DOH!!!) idling nicely at 27 degrees Celsius.

Have a great day folks...

EDIT: BTW, the price was $11.99 for the GOrb, which is $4 LESS than the retail price of $15.99 and shipping was a flat $3.55. Not too shabby...

I'm unsure but I believe he works from home or a home-based mail-order.

That would explain unusual time delivery.

I order twice and gotten pretty fast delivery.

Hey Ginfest,

Red Dawn is pretty damn respectable, i highly doubt he'd try to scam you. I'd suggest trying to work something out between you and red Dawn.

Umm...glad that's resolved now.

BTW, I've only made one purchase from CPUsForLess and it was a good one. Very quick shipping, shipped the next day from LA.

After 5 days of placing an order -- and not hearing anything other than the intitial automated E-mail response, I've sent this company an E-mail asking that my order be cancelled. I think their communication is poor. If there was a problem with an item being out of stock, then I think a simple note telling me the status would have been fine. Even though the site indicates "most orders are shipped the next business day" -- I'd be cautious. While the prices are good at this site, I think I'd go with another vendor who is more reputable.

Yes, it takes about a week to get your order filled. However, I think they are doing the best they know how. I admire them for putting together a site that appears to cater to the overclocking crowd with plenty of visuals and a few explanations. I ordered from them and by pure luck got 2 CII566's that run at 952. Their prices are fair if you order everything at once and get the free shipping. (Notice that returns are accepted for defective merchandise only)

I received the following response from this company:

Due to high order volume, there have been delays in shipment and email
response durring the past week. We have hired new help and everything should be back to normal by monday. We apologize for the
inconvenience.

Lumpy, how did you get that fan for free? I remember seeing something about a free case fan included with orders, but I can't find how to take advantage of this offer. Do they do it automatically?
