Can someone explain MicroSD to me?

Need to order a MicroSD for my brother's cell phone. I have never used a MicroSD product so I am kind of lost to the differences in these cards. What will work in his cell phone?

Is that first link actually MicroSD? Or is it Memory Stick Micro? Same thing?
 
Any of them should work. MicroSD is aspecific size, and it is primarily used in cell phones.

The first one you linked to is not MicroSD. That is a Memory Stick Micro, different standard.

The other 2 are basicly the same. The different classes refure to the speed of the chip. But there should be no problem with either class in the phone. The chip itself will support far faster transfer speeds then the phone is capable of.

Another thing is that I've seen older phones/readers not being able to read the HC version of MicroSD.

Older phones have limits of 2gb. Often this is not noted in any of there paperwork since 2gb seamed to be the limit of the cards at the time. But all phones now say what the limit is. So as long as its MicroSD and within the limit your fine.
