I played back in the glorious days of 1.09 where you could get rushed to hell easily without any complication and then sit and leech in hell cows until you were strong enough to kill them yourself, i left when 1.10 came because imo it was bullshit and blah blah this isnt a rant so i wont go there.

So whats the score in 1.12? Ive been told trist runs to level 15, then tomb runs to 25 and baal runs to 40 odd, then from there on... i dont know im currently at 40. I guess rinse and repeat in nightmare. Isnt there an easier way to do this??? Whats uber tristram? Can uber tristram help? (i know nothing beyond what ive typed here).

Levelling
Ok so what ive gathered about levelling is:

Tristram runs till level 15 --> Tomb runs till level 25 --> Normal baal ruls till 40 --> Nightmare baal runs till 70 --> ?? Hell baal runs i guess

Ive gone from level 1-66 in 3 days by doing this.

After 40 I would try to get to a5 nm as soon as possible, then you can do bloody runs until 50 and then baal runs until 70 then move on to Hell.

How I did it:

Trist runs to lvl 15, tomb runs to lvl 20 (or just play through the game), hell cows to lvl 25, ancients, baal runs to 40+. From there just playing through the game should get you close to the ancients/baal runs for the next difficulty. I was one of the weirdos who did norm baal until around lvl 50.

^^ some of the fun is being able to make characters so easily... it's all about the gear, the way you spec, and how you use your character in PVP.

I've considered playing a little bit, but my friends hate the game from playing it to death, and I really don't want to play alone. Plus, the game is unbearable without a map hack, and last time I checked, there's no map hack for the latest patch. Call me a cheater if you want, but seriously, the game sucks without a maphack. I said it.

The cdkey for D2+LoD is for sale at 9 dollars here: http://www.cdkey-store.com/diablo-2-cd-key-p-1.html

I kinda feel like buying it, but I'm having a hard time justifying it to myself :p
So, the point of multiplayer is to make uber characters? I know that playing by myself I burn out at around level 50 (maybe because I played fishymancer), so I never actually saw the best gear drops..

Agreed 100%. The one thing I liked about D2 was that I didn't have to put up with BS slow leveling when I just wanted to try a new build. And yeah, without an mh the game is awful.

Am I seriously the only person who played Diablo 2 without cheating or boosting?

I didn't mention anything about boosting and this thread isn't about that either. It's about leveling, not boosting.

i have never used any exploit or cheat in the past.

but since i havent played this game since 2003 and have never experianced any of this id like to check it out. see what it does.
i also have no desire to get back into the game to play alot to level up that far. i just want to screw around.
curiousity takes over at some point.

Shit I just picked up this game for the first time and was planning on playing it without any extensive cheats or hacks or boosting or whatever. Just kinda going along with gamefaqs helping me develop my character, is this the wrong way to do it?

I barely got into the game last time I tried to play, and with DIII coming out, I really want to give DII another go. I gotta buy it again though, sold my old copy. Damn me. Hadn't played with battle.net ever, so it'll be all new to me. Crazy eh?

thats what im doing right now. well without gamefaqs. thats what ive always done in the past.

just that i never already heard about these bots or maphacks and now since i have im curious and would tinker with it. but since im to lazy to actually figure any of it out ill just progress normally.

i think right now im lvl 18 amazon on uswest. somewhere mid act2.

Alright first-off... http://d2sector.net/ That's where you can get some good hacks. I used them all the time and never got detected. But with new patches, comes new bans! :-O So don't use them yet. I hated playing the game normally, I got my maphack and then used d2loader to make the screen windowed and to my preferences. The game is unbearable otherwise unless you are playing with friends. I would self-powerlevel myself in uber tristram. I'd have autohammer going on one guy and let my other sit around and chillax and take in the massive XP. (Level 25-70 in under five minutes)

Second you can get those CD keys for cheaper. I know a guy who sells them for less.

Trist to 15. Tombs to 20, cows to 25. Norm baal - 40. Get rushed to nightmare baal, do those runs until you are about 65. Then hell ancients, hell baal runs until you are about 85. Then you do Chaos runs in A4 in hell the rest of the game. (It's WAY better XP when you get to that level. Also, some awesome loot)

Leveling in Diablo games has always been the same. Click the left mouse button with the cursor over a demon. Use the right mouse button for special things to kill more demons faster.

1.10 I think. You won't ever know about it until you start playing with people on forums and such. If you are a lone rider like I was when I played this game, you will never know anything. Soon as I joined IRC and stuff, I got tons of uber games I could join with my self-rushed lvl 8s and such. :D Pure vit hammerdin ftw. :D
