Well knowing me, I'll probably just end up pulling the trigger anyway. I have this terrible compulsion, once I set my mind on something, I can't stop thinking about it until I get it done. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's not.

anyway, you are on "the path" ... it is inevitable ... you have set in motion a chain of 'events' the instant you ordered your 1200w PS
-unless your CC gets 'denied'

That's the good/bad thing about CC companies, they would rather increase my limit than decline the purchase, so I'm not too worried there.

Very true, but not really the point of this whole exercise for me.

I have always wanted to try Crossfire and now is a good opportunity for me to do so (just got my year-end bonus). I am not overly concerned with having the greatest thing available (if I was I would just get 8800Ultra SLI) but more for the experience of it all.

I know it sounds kind of stupid, but I'm in this for the fun of it. If it ends up being a big waste of money, well so be it, I'll just chalk it up to experience.

i believe it's the same genetic defect
[--probably on my Dad's side passed on to most of the males in our line]

i thought *exactly* like you do ... where's the "adventure" of SLI'd Ultras ... others been there .. done that

BUT Xfired HD2900XTs are a *real challenge*

.... and not too expensive either ... plus a "world" of valuable experience and insight to share ... you 'go' KT
