i have some photos i want to make reprints of, but i dont have the negatives anymore. will most photo developing places be able to create copies of the photos for me? are photo reprint quality usually pretty good compared to the original?
Back in hs (2000) I took a picture to be enlarged/reprinted at a fotomat and at that time they did a photo enlargement (actually took a picture of the picture, I have the negative they made) and printed that. Looked pretty good.
If you make a reprint from a print, you'll loose some quality, but probably not any noticeable amount if the photo lab is competent. However, making an 8x10 enlargement from a 4x6 proof is going to suck unless you're half blind.
