I wouldn't trust the shipping times. Amazon is generally considered slow in my book vs. the quickness of Newegg.

Then quit being cheap and depending on Cheap Ass Saver shipping, enroll in Prime, and that will never happen again....Newegg becomes dead slow compared to Amazon's Prime.

Agreed.
I am a newly converted Prime Disciple. This is the way things are meant to be done. In fact now I added my nephew to the Prime Family list, he tossed me $40 via PayPal and we're both loving it. I plan on signing up a few more people under my umbrella too.

Toss in 1-click? Dear God.

Amazon retakes the online shopping crown.

Well, I am glad to see you guys are having success. I ordered my final gift from Amazon almost 2 weeks ago with International (Canada) priority 1-3 day shipping. Despite showing the item as instock with 3 left, my item was not shipped and delayed a week. Then despite stock levels having increased to 6 in stock, my item STILL has not shipped, and is now showing a delivery date after Christmas. So, my experience has not been great. This is not sold through a marketplace seller either, it is listed as sold through Amazon.

Today might be the first for me where Amazon does not get a package to me early or on time. I made three separate orders on Sunday with 2 day delivery (Prime). All three had a delivery estimate of today (Wednesday).

Just checked the status, and two are out for delivery. The third has the following status:

Louisville KY
Shipment received by carrier - Dec 22, 2010 8:21:00 AM

I don't think it will be here today. Damnit Amazon I am trying to leave town tonight.

Have you called them?

I've never had a bad experience with Amazon. Having said that, the item I wanted to order had a delivery date of mid-January. So I ordered it from a reputable seller on eBay Dec 7 and received it Dec 10 (from US to Canada). I did pay for the fastest shipping though.

Have you called them?

Contacted them through email twice and chat once.

The first email resulted in them very quickly refunding my expediting shipping cost and apologizing for the delay. The second email I simply asked for them to change the shipping address to my home address since I will not be in the office the week following the holidays, at which point they did change the address, but also reinstated full cost of shipping which for international priority bumped up my bill 30%. This was not announced at all by the way, I only noticed it because I happened to be looking at another item which had been sent earlier in my history, and the invoice total looked higher than expected.

I immediately went onto chat and asked why my invoice total was revised and they told me that all charges are correct, I then spent 30 minutes in a chat session with them providing proof of my claims while the customer service rep told me that all the charges were legit and a result of me making unilateral order changes online. In the end, they told me that I was stuck with the increased cost, I told them that was unacceptable, and actually to my surprise after saying that they immediately folded and apologized for the confusion and as a good will gesture refunded the shipping costs.

They also mentioned that despite showing 2 in stock increasing to 6 in stock, the item was backordered.

I ordered a bunch of stuff with Prime on Saturday to be shipped to my mom (flying there tomorrow and sister and her fam is driving up after christmas). It was shipped in 3 boxes. 1 has already arrived and the other two are due today.

Amazon shipping has never let me down.

However, sometimes Fedex is a little bitch and claims I am "not there" even though I waited all day for my package, forcing me to pick up the package from their warehouse in order to get it on time.

Yeah, last year I had a package overnighted to my office for delivery on a Friday. The office is open all day, 7:30 - 6, I typically leave at noon on Friday so when the package hadnt arrived I pulled up tracking and waited it out. At 3:00 a note was posted saying office closed shipment delayed, this was despite me sitting within eyesight of the open entrance. I called them 5 minutes after the note was listed and they apologized but there was nothing they could do and I had to wait until Monday for a second attempt.

My success rate with timely shipping is pretty poor actually.
