I'm a singer. Its a natural talent, but my mom is a vocal coach, so I had a lot of guidance.
You'll see me on mtv within 2 years.

Singing? On MTV? I call BS. :p
Believe what you will. My band will be on MTV within the next 2 years. There's no doubt in my mind.

You missed the joke.

Now, lets hear some samples.
We're about to drop off the face of the planet to work on a development deal.. so the music will sound very different after production. Link

I think I sing fairly well. My sister is a musician and we grew up listening to music, playing guitar, and singing. We used to make games out of singing.
I sang in one of my college choirs, and I actually kind of miss it.

I discovered about 10 years ago that I have perfect pitch. I do sing quite well, but only with classical-style/choir music. I doubt I'd be the next American Idol, because I just don't have a pop/country/rock style voice when I sing. Maybe if I tried, I'd be good in opera.

I sang a solo at a high school choir concert (after a long try-out session), made the highest choir at my university, and had the opportunity to sing (by invitation) with members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during one of its major performances.

Alas, it's been over three years since I moved to Houston, and no real, significant opportunities to sing with a real, significant choir in a real, significant setting have came my way. I'd like to sing with the Houston Symphony Choir, but they practice at very unconvienent times. My local church congregation choir, as it is made-up of a bunch of tone-deaf volunteers, sucks, so I choose to accompany them on the piano instead of sing with them. I doubt I'll sing with another good choir again. <sigh>

I love singing...if I didn't have music, I'd die. I sang in an a cappella group for a while, and would be decent in a competition. No formal training, however, and I would sing something in the second tenor -> baritone range, so not too much that's "typical".

I doubt I'll sing with another good choir again. <sigh>

Likely not. When I made the NJ All State chorus for the first time, my HS choir teacher said "Treasure this because you will literally never have the opportunity to stand among 400 of the best singers around for as long as you live."

And she was right. There were great singers in my college choirs, but not even 1/4 of what was in the All State.

I tried singing with a fairly selective adult community choir, but I have found that "adult" men like to sing as loud as they can and it is positively awful to stand next to someone who is singing so loud you can't even hear yourself, let alone the rest of the ensemble.

I might try the Men's wing of the Philly Boys' Choir, but I've got a gig right now that would interfere with rehearsals, so that's going to have to wait until July when that show closes.

But yeah....never again....
*sigh*

i'll get you contact info, they have a larger choir (about 100 members all pretty decent) and then she does a smaller ensemble (about 40 members) very very good singers.

btw, i have friends that sing in the NY City opera and another friend that graduate Juliards with Voice, so i have a decent idea what a good voice is. :)
