Can a meal replacement bar actually replace a traditional meal?

I was thinking of making these - is the maple flavor strong? I'm not a fan of maple syrup. Were there suggestions on substitutes for it?

Nah I don't taste the maple. I don't know what you could substitute it with but it would probably still work without any syrup at all.

And to answer the OPs question. I have tried the Meal replacement thing and it does work. But make sure you pick a product with higher protein and very low sugar. Or make your own like the above poster did.
