And you're one of the worst posters on this forum.

You know what they say: "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."
Reminds me of people who disrespect other drivers out on the road failing to yield right of way cutting them off and then get mad at them when they protest being wronged by them. In other words, he's a typical republican.:p

Randy Weber, R Rep from Texas voted against Sandy funding unless there was a 1.63% across the board cut on other programs. He refused to answer the the question on CNN this morning on Harvey and Texas and danced around and around the question no matter how it was asked. The reporter asked for a yes or no on reducing other spending to cover Harvey and he simply refused to answer. Was asked if he voted against Sandy based on principle and he stated it depends on the definition of principle.

What a hack....and hypocrite.

Not that I'd want to support the imported mausoleum in any way shape or form, but I've always thought that expression excluded the possibility one might be living in asshole-central. For example, one might work in the Trump administration.

They were literally the first two things I looked at. So far the check to lie ratio is 1:1, lol.

It is definitely not true 'no matter how you stack it'. That's just you continuing to parrot their spin even after they've been exposed as liars.

Pretty sad.
Only a looter thinks that the "Sandy Disaster Relief Bill" sends money to places that weren't affected by Sandy, that weren't in any way a disaster, and aren't relief should still be included in a "Sandy Disaster Relief Bill". It's the typical leftist looting thinking that stealing money from people in need is acceptable.

Haha, now with the Atlas Shrugged raging. In al the time you've spent copying blog posts filled with obvious lies and ranting about 'looters' you could have come up with your own thoughts as was asked of you pages ago. How's that coming?

All this damned Obamacare & disaster relief are making increased defense spending & billionaire tax cuts nigh on impossible but I'm sure Repubs can still squeeze out a little something for their donors...

Please. "Stupid" isn't the right word. "Gullible" is really more accurate. It doesn't denigrate anybody's intelligence but rather calls upon them to wise up & use it.

No, it's pretty obvious taj is neither helmet wearing stupid or falls for nigerian princes all the time. People like that do what they do because it works, resulting in dumb and gullible democrats who end up believing either.

You & peers must also have a hard time figuring why a criminal at trial would present themselves as incompetent or naive.

Again the aforementioned Bill had nothing at all to do with Storm Sandy, nothing to do with the disaster, nothing to do with relief for people in need, but was all about swamp dwelling politicians looting a fund for their own special interests.

So what?

Hell, Taj- they'll probably do it again, minus all the faux spending concerns & grandstanding for the folks back home. And this time Repubs won't have anybody to blame but themselves.

At least now you're admitting you have no intention of providing any original thought and are only interested in cutting and pasting ineptly written right wing blogs.

Why couldn't you have been honest about your intentions from the beginning instead of making up lies about why you hadn't provided your own thoughts?

These are all obvious lies that have already been disproven to your face and you know it. You're either too stupid (nah) or too dishonest (yup) to admit it. I'm not sure what would motivate someone to keep repeating lies like this but whatever it is can't be good.

How about you show what percentage of the Sandy Disaster Relief Bill actually went to help victims of the Sandy disaster? You don't seem to like my sources of information, so how about you supply one of your own ? One claim is only 1/3 or the money, another is 1/2 or about 50%. What's your number?

"We consulted a detailed report on the funding in the legislation by the Congressional Research Service in February 2013. We found that at least $35 billion of the $50.5 billion provided by the bill was related to Sandy — that’s 69 percent of the bill.

We identified nearly another $10 billion that was for mitigation efforts to limit damage from future storms. That left nearly $6 billion uncategorized, because it was either unclear whether all of the funds were specifically directed to Sandy-affected areas, or the money indeed went to other disaster efforts."

Fuck the poor red States, I am tired of paying for their shit. Be fiscally conservative. Let the churches and corporations rebuild southeast Texas. Keep the government out of it. We don't want big government, why is Texas all of a sudden want the government to grow substantially? All I ever hear is how they hate California and New York value, let's see how well Texas rebuild without the United States.

Right? We are the conservatives, no?

Hell yeah I could get behind that. Let the mega million dollar churches, aka corporations - check it out because its true, fund their rebuilding efforts and see how far that gets them. Politics during a time of national crisis is pure BS and anyone caught playing them should be publicly shamed for it.

These are real people who have had their lives destroyed by a catastrophic flood. I find it hard to believe either of you would act so callously if you actually knew any of them.

Do you really hate Republicans so much that you're willing to let people suffer and die for it? If so that's not a good place to be. Conservatives have made irrational hatred of liberals their primary motivating factor for several decades now. Do you really want to be like them?

Those who live in hurricane zone better have proper insurance and their emergency fund for times like this. Why should we pay for their rebuilding effort this time? They didn't care to rebuilt after Sandy tore apart Jersey. Myself has donated and my employer has matched my donation. My job is done. Why should my taxes go toward rebuilding southeast Texas with newer and bigger buildings only to be destroyed again when next hurricane arrives?

I was just in northern Texas, while sitting in hotel at night looking at the destruction on TV. I told myself I would never put my family in that situation. Tornado zone? Hurricane zone? Fuck no, it is not worth it. Why do some people insist on living there? Find a better job elsewhere. Start a business in Oregon. Find a better job in New Mexico. There are plenty of jobs, good high paying jobs, Trump is in office now, right?? What is the excuse now? Why suddenly asking for handouts?

Is it because Texas supposedly has "lower taxes"? Is it because you can easily buy an AR15 with a pistol grip and adjustable butt stock? Is it because Joel Osteen has a mega church near by? Or are they such die hard Houston Texan fans that they must live near by?

So your number and the number from "factcheck" is about 2/3rds of the money actually went to disaster relief and 1/3 of the money went to various special interest groups. I think it's a high estimate, but at least it's a number.

The bill itself is here. Its summary is here. Cruz’s statement at the time on the Sandy bill is here. And the Roll Call vote is here. Here is a Heritage report about the bill at the time. Here is fiscal hawk Tom Coburn on the problems with emergency disaster bills. And here are some things you will find if you read all of these, including specific spending in the Sandy relief bill that has nothing to do with emergency needs or any relation to disaster relief:

16,000,000,000 dollars for Community Development Block Grants (11 billion higher than HUD was requesting at the time)
600,000,000 for State and Tribal Assistance Grants under the EPA
348,000,000 for “construction” for the National Park Service
100,000,000 for Head Start
50,000,000 for the Historic Preservation Fund at the NPS
45,000,000 for upgrades to NOAA aircraft
22,000,000 for upgrading NOAA weather equipment
50,000,000 for “construction” for Fish and Wildlife Services
24,000,000 for the Defense Working Capital Fund
10,000,000 to Small Business Administration to plus up grants to organizations seeking to participate in disaster relief
4,400,000 for “capital improvement” to the Forestry Service
3,000,000 for oil spill research
2,000,000 for the Smithsonian’s famously leaky roofs.
1,000,000 for new cars for the DEA.
1,000,000 to the Legal Services Corporation.

So what's your argument, Taj? That we should be stingy with relief & future mitigation efforts to leave room in the budget for mega rich tax cuts, or what?
