If you spent the cash equivalent of the corvette in upgrading the Civic and the 'Vette is bone stock.....maybe :)

There was a thread posted here awhile from a corvette forum where some guy with a Turbo'd Civic did just that. I think the consensus was that the driver of the corvette was too heavy on the throttle and took too long to hook up.

Of course it's possible, but the Z06 in that thread was stock, IIRC, and the Civic was modified. Anything can beat anything else if it's modded heavily enough. Think of the Shogun, a Festiva with a Yamaha V6 stuffed in the rear. Death on wheels, but it's probably pretty fast.

I've seen boosted civics beat vettes. Happens all the time to the shock of the owners of those vettes.

Well I'll go talk to Lingenfelter about boosting a vette and then we'll see who will win then.

there was a guy in a vette forum that got his ass whooped by a

swapped Civic.

Btw the vette driver instigated the race and got pwned.

I'm pretty sure he never saw that coming.

Still though...A Vette runs 40k. A civic runs $17k. With the extra $23k left over you could make a very fast civic.

No doubt. Putting Perfume on a Pig doesn't mean it's not a Pig anymore.

I dont care, I dont race. It is still a Honda Civic. I'd much rather own a stock vette then a souped up civic.

It depends on how many stickers the civic has. I mean, if you cover the thing with NOS decals, you're sure to win. You can also experiment with different ones to get the perfect specs. Alternate between Type R and Type S logos, you may see a performance increase. And don't forget the wing or you'll never win...

And its still a civic... Which would you rather drive? A fast modded Civic or a stock vette?

but this thread is about a 1/4 mile race between a civic and a vette.

does it matter what you drive when you race ? No not really... what matters is that you win, especially if you race for slips.

If it was used purely for racing
i'd much rather have the faster civic
