I think you might be better off going with a canon sx260 if IQ is your primary concern.

another option is the panasonic tz series (ie tz18; aka zs18?)
sadly those options seem to be more expensive in the UK.

The primary reason for the wb150f is sharing. If you're buying it because your parents want to share pictures on facebook/twitter/etc without bringing a laptop, then this would be easy for them. The camera supports wifi and supposedly can send pics without needing a computer, which is a big plus.
If you're buying it so they can take reasonably good pictures while travelling, it doesn't have a good burst mode and is poor past 200 ISO, greatly reducing its uses in low light (anything indoors/shadowed) and action (lots of missed shots; the camera takes longer to turn on [1.8s vs 1.2s for the canon]).
