Ok people.
I bought the Microworks back in 1997, and as I was going through my crazy upgrading habits, i upgraded everything in my computer and monitor 5-6 times during this time span, the speakers were the only item that survived.
it is truly an amazing set of speakers for their size (about half of the klipsch promedia 2.1's height), and yes i own the promedia 2.1s now because the cambridge's sub finally decided to give in and i cannot find them sold new anywhere.
before the promedia 2.1s, i was going to have the 4.1s to replace the cambridge microworks i have, but on the same sound card (both TBSC and Philips Acoustic edge) the 4.1s did not sound better than the cambridge (yes the Klipsch promedia 4.1) anything the 4.1 did the microwork was right up there with it. the microworks filled the room like theh 4.1 did.
so i sold the 4.1s.
the through the 6 years span of me owning the cambridge microworks, i can easily say they were the best computer 3-piece available. they were sold in fry's refurbished for $50 but the amplifier in those refurbs were not as good as mine, therefore make sure you get new ones or ones well taken care of by previous owner.
i didn't get a chance to make a direct comparison between the microworks and the klipsch 2.1s but i can guarantee you this, the cambridge would not be overshadowed by much.
with all that said, $90 is a little much to charge though.

Have you even heard them?
Cambridge's clarity on their higher end models like this walks all over Klipsch. Or any other PC speaker I've heard for that matter. But if making big, loud, bassy, gaming explosion noises to piss off your neighbors is your idea of 'cool', instead of hearing every breath Miles Davis takes on his trumpet on 'Birth of the Cool', then maybe Klipsch is your speaker. But the true audio enthusiasts choose CSW.
that's the truth. no one else makes better computer speakers than CSW
