The question you gotta ask is, why are all these people willing to do such despicable things to help trump win? What's in it for them?

Robert Mercer invested more than $15 Million to start Cambridge Analytica.

Some times smart people just like to prove they can do something, the means justify the ends, if you will.

Remember Jared bragging about how he won the election for trump, iirc there was an article on it and he hired them.

Who would've thought that a British Company with a background installing various african and middle eastern dictators would be involved in getting Donald Trump elected?

How much did he benefit on his taxes with the win?

ROI is amazing. Country and our democracy is in the shitter, but man, that sweet sweet return.
At least 5 new homes.

Let's face it the whole world seems so fucking corrupt, I would argue we're past any hope. I just want to find my house on a hill away from all these assholes and live out my days. Let the titans of tyranny and greed have at it.

Well, the British ruling class have a hell of a track-record of manipulating politics in other countries - they probably imagine they are a cut-above those brash nouveau Americans who have only been doing it for a century or so.

Sinister and troubling as it is, it seems to me that some of what they claim to be able to do might indeed be commercial hype. I guess you have to allow for the fact that they have a strong interest in exaggerating their own effectiveness.

So..Wylie has now, for his own Machiavellian reasons, decided to apologize for the whole thing and give up his story...

I don't really think Wylie is making all this up. But if this is true, this is the perfect conspiracy, because to explain it to the people manipulated by it would entail recounting such unbelievable details that they'd think you were a simpleton.

It's a pity Robert Anton Wilson is dead, because he'd be so proud of these guys.

All I see is Jared sitting in the middle of his playpen up to his neck in bookmatches fvcking around with a fully loaded and primed flamethrower thinking to himself "now how do I light this sucker up?" And Trump is standing on a heap of matches next to the playpen while a room-full of his supporters who stood him up on that towering pile of incendiaries are chanting "Light it up! Light it up! Light it up!"

This Trump "thing", this unmitigated disaster of an presidency is surreal, macabre. Totally boundless in it's depth of depravity and inhumanity. And millions of folks think this is how things are supposed to be simply because they voted for the guy that's the cause of it all.

So Bannon, Mercer, and company set up a data company to target people with information for elections. Multinational business being what it is today, Russia eventually catches wind and asks for a sales pitch through an "oil company". Is that it? The Russian connection stops there? If it goes any further we'd need evidence that it did.

Makes sense to me. Everything is on the up and up so a Russian oil company is going to take time for a discussion unrelated to oil.

So 195 countries in the worlds and its the Russians again, using an oil company? Oh that's right its a big wet fat sloppy coincidence.

Again, if you want to charge people with crimes you're going to need evidence that Cambridge Analytica worked with Russia. And no, responding to an inquiry with a sales pitch doesn't count if the connection ended there. Where is the evidence that it went further? That they actually worked together?

Hillary doing a speech for Goldman Sachs was all the evidence needed to conclude that she was in their pocket.

Not necessarily disagreeing with that part but aren't you wondering, why always the Russians??

All the Trump people who "forgot" things on their disclosure forms it was always Russia. Nobody hiding a meeting with the Prime Minister of Jamaica

Its a Jim Carey painting of Sarah Manatee Sanders. I'd say pretty good representation. I had a Trump version show him kissing the naked ass of his BFF Vlad but mods objected.

How many white countries are there in the world, for white nationalists to form ties with?

Nobody hiding a meeting with the Prime Minister of Jamaica

There may be an order of magnitude difference between a small island nation and a former world super power. I doubt many people are interested in Jamaica, and that goes both ways. Few reasons to meet, and even fewer reasons to carefully inspect those meetings.

I've written out a few different replies to the greater issue / question you pose, but they all lead to ignoring Cambridge Analytica and going off topic. The other aspects of Trump / Russia are almost immaterial to the question of whether this topic has any merit unto itself. I'd rather stay focused on whether Cambridge Analytica can be proven to have assisted or provided Russia with material support in their effort to attack the United States. Because that would be an actual smoking gun.

Unfortunately for the conspiracy theorists, I'm not seeing news articles allege anything more than a solicitation. So it's up to investigators to figure out if there's anything more to this story. Though I'm sure that won't stop partisans from screaming Russia and waiving impeach signs before the evidence exists. Which makes it all the more difficult to get Republicans on board should the day come where Mueller makes the case.

You bolstered my argument. Nobody is "forgetting" a meeting with a world superpower especially an adversary like Russia. Jamaica is the one you are forgetting
