But the 91-94 Classic SE-R was ahead of its time. One of the original pocket rockets.

That said, your car is probably faster :)

Perhaps, but the SE-R's IMHO handle a lot better than the SRT-4.

Speaking of handling on this badboy, anyone know of any good roads that are really twisty in the Phoenix area? I've only been able to test this thing out by taking turns sharply and doing straight shots down the highway... hardly a true test of this car's handling and suspension.

Although my dad has a Sterling silver mist 2000 Maxima

I am a large Nissan fanboi :)

My friend bought a 99 SE 5-spd fully loaded with 90k km for $13k CDN. It's a steal in my mind.

And its in excellent condition and loves to spin tires in 2nd and chirp in 3rd. I love driving it.

I would too :D :D

I really want one man.. but hard to find a 5 speed.. esp. locally.

As far as mechanical issues, well based on my brother's '00 neon, and his girlfriend's 02 which has been perfect, I don't see that as being a major problem.

Sorry if this doesn't qualify me for Nissan Fanboism, but I'd pick an SRT-4 over a SpecV anyday of week. And the new se-r look for '04 is crap, srt over that too.

Nissan had a great opportunity to really revive the SE-R and blow the doors off the competition, but the B15 just isn't like the good ol' days of the B13.

/back to the fanboi-ness!

I still love my 92 SE-R!!

Hey man I'm a Dodgeboy too.. I love Nissan, and I love Dodge.. only 2 cars I'll probably ever own, and I must say, I have a 2001 Neon R/T right now, and I'd probably consider an SRT-4, that car is just way too badass... driven them, they are tight... very sweet indeed.

Nismo/Mopar 4 life :) hehe

Thanks Skoorb!

By the way, my car is a 1993, not a 2003.

Hey, you've got a 93 XE Limited Edition, too. You hardly ever see an XE LE. Took me a while to figure out what made it a "Limited Edition".

In regards to SE-Rs... B13 SE-R w/ SR20DET > SpecV.

What exactly does make our cars an LE? I think it's the power mirrors and crap isn't it ;) I'll fix that date.

93 XE LE = 94 XE

Basically, we got the '94 changes 1 year early. I think the velour interior might be specific to the LE, also, but I haven't looked into it. Oh, and the lame "Limited Edition" decals on the side.

Just got back from a cool Nissan show here. Had a Skyline GTR, Cima something (big luxury car) and two RB25DET equipped 240SX's (that's the Skyline GT-S engine).

About 100 or so cars. I am really getting hooked on the 240SX (95+). If I had the driveway space I'd start hunting now :).

I'd very much like one, but the price of car plus new engine is similar to a brand new car with warranty and I just couldn't justify that :(

well the RB25DET is about $4k max, one guy got one complete for $2k

Any 240SX it goes in :)...of course it's not legal in the US unless you want to build about 5 and submit crashtests and emission results...no emission testing in FL (no my car will still RUN clean, just that it's illegal since the feds didn't get the EPA taxing, etc on it).

Of course all of the above is assuming you can do the 12hours or so of labor your self, otherwise add at least another $600.

So true it is comparable to a new car (even a cheapo 240sx should run $3k)....however performance is just about equal to anything $30k-60k ;)

YES IT WOULD...if you really had one..because it IS a nissan. but that's ok, i'm about to post about a car that was never mine as well:eek:.

my bro had a Sylvia S-14 front end swap imported from Japan. he had about 350 bhp to the wheels. but he sold it not quite a year ago for a BMW M Coupe. its not as fast as the sylvia...yet. he plans on tuning it to 600 hp at the crank when he gets the money though. anyways, i haven't heard anyone mention the sylvia, so i thought i would. btw, it was right hand drive too!

pics? never seen red on a maxima in my life!
They are rare. I wonder if it's aftermarket, but I've seen two 4th gens that were red and I am wondering if they had a brief color option for some of the 4th gens. In regards to 5th the closest I've seen is burgandy, which is what I'm guessing trmiv's max is!

Any Skyline's yet? Here's mine: My Skyline

1992 Skyline GTSt type M (one step under the GTR)
2.0L single turbo inline-6
4spd AT :( but hey, I can power brake like mad:)
HICAS
Rear-wheel drive with LSD and 4.3:1 gears (this puppy revs)
4 wheel disk brakes
stock wheels
Eclipse CD/MD player

Got this after an insurance settlement which totalled my 95 Toyota Carina ED....that was a sweet car, too.

Toyotas and Nissans, I like them both. Just sold my Toyota 4x4 in the States. I'll buy another one when we move back in 1 1/2 years
