here is the deal, my campus network sucks bad. there are WAAAAAAYYY to many people for the network. right now my connection is about equal to a 14.4 modem.... i'm not exaggerating at all. most files i even have trouble downloading. everything speeds up around 1-3 am, and then it is fine until about 9-10am. but hell, im sleeping at those times, like everyone else.
now my question to you guys is, is there a way i can prioritize myself higher than anyone else on the network?
i called the tech support people and they said that if there were 4 people downloading at full capacity that it would fill up the system to the max. there are about 2,000 people on the network, and it was designed for about 500.
so again, im running win 98 SE, is there anything i can do to my system to better my bandwith to beat the system?
thanks in advance guys.
