There is a prestige only playlist, but most people don't play it. It's really kind of stupid to have it at all.

If you set the ballistic knife like this, does it give you any advantage over the standard knife when only running up and knifing people? Such as longer reach with the blade?

I'm lok1ju on PS3 btw if anyone wants to play.

I'm a pro at dying and that's about it at this point.

Steady Aim Pro gives you a quicker recovery after knifing, and the ballistic knife provides the same type of quick stab that handgun+tacknife did in MW2.
 
Played a bit of TDM for the first time in about a month today. Now I know why I like objective-based modes better.

Yep.. we were playing some sabotage yesterday and we blew up the target about in under 2 minutes in 80-90% of the matches simply because almost everyone else was finding a good camping spot to try and get kills.

IDK if its that high but you do need a few people running around killing people on objective type games, Helps a lot on demo and CTF if you keep the other team dead and away from the bomb/flag

Demo is my new fave game. except on nuketown its just too crazy

What most people see as people running around ignoring the objective is quite often people trying to get rid of incoming threats so that the people doing the objective can do it safely.

And demo on nuketown is the only way to play nuketown.
 
I only play CTF now. My team will hurry and get 2-0 on the other team and then proceed to own them until the round is almost up and hurry and cap it. Fun times.

I play CTF occasionally, but I hate having to wait to respawn. I like to run around with a shotgun, seems to work best.

I only play Domination and it is probably 50/50 for objective players and people just farming kills. You get so many more points if you just kill while getting the objectives. I guess people doing just slaying helps somewhat, but I have no trouble kill while I get objectives. People don't really run past "clearing" then go back. Either they sit on the points or they run past and kill.

Exactly.... lol. TDM is my favorite. However, I do cap points in Dom. I just don't run around the map trying to cap every single point... that messes up the game for the team. Cap 2 points and guard them.
 
I had a lot of fun on FFA yesterday. Was able to level up to 20, from about 10 or so.

I had a good first match, after which surprisingly most of the people stayed in the match as I led the field by quite a bit. The second one was on WMD where I went 30-1. Yikes! Now I'm not some FFA monster, all of these guys had NO situational awareness and mediocre aiming at best. Surprising consider there were a few 30-40 level peeps in there. I don't have much unlocked for killstreaks, as I just prestiged, so there were no massive massacres. Though I did end the match with a Huey thanks to a care package.

The next match was on Jungle, with surprisingly the same people who were left over from WMD (several dropped). I setup a motion sensor in one of the bombed out huts and owned that area for a while. I took out the same 3-4 guys probably a dozen times before one finally got me. One just came running up that path on the edge of the map and didn't learn until after the 5th time or so. There was some frustration expressed by the players, but they were good sports 😉

My final match was on Firing Range, where again the guys stayed in it. This time I ran around with LW/marathon/SOH and an AK74u with rapid fire. I find this is a good combo for run & gunning. Previously I was using a silenced Famas with Ghost/Scavenger, SOH, and Ninja. I got my 150 silenced kills for Ninja 😛

Overall a damn fun time...

Depends on the map. Some maps, Summit for example, you never want to have A capped and you fight for C to advance on B. Others, like Firing Range, the spawns aren't really dependent on which points, so take all 3. They either spawn in the back or behind the white trailer 75% of the time anyway. WMD is another it is okay to grab all 3 points. I'd only keep 2 on Nuke Town, and a couple others.

I hear ya. Different Strats for different maps. Like Grid. B is a much easier to defend from A. So, If we spawn at C, the team will usually skip B and flank to grab A. Last night, we lost a match on Grid b/c the other team was able to get around to A, and we got stuck at C close to the end of the game..what bitch that was.

Honestly, we rarely play regular tdm or dom. Always ground war, so I don't get a chance to play summit or firing range much.

Which is why I do so well on those modes. People run around like asshats while I camp and pick up the people that actually go for the objectives. I end up usually with 2x the points in CTF than I would get if I played TDM just from returning and capping the flag, and I don't have to worry about needing 30 kills to get there either.

I see, you don't like TDM b/c campers typically do poorly. Camping sucks at times man. Variety is the spice of life, try different tactics and try not to worry about your kdr all the time. You can move around silently and intelligently (paying attention to the mini map and environment of course) with out running around with your head cut off. Also, I've been in many tdm matches where I'll try to flank, die 4 or 5 times straight, and come back to go on to do quite well.
 
I'm giving up on Black Ops. I often find myself reminiscing about MW2 while playing.

- PS3 often hangs on loading screen, which requires a system reboot
- footsteps. Yes, they patched them but ninja pro doesn't really work.
- COD points could've been neat, but they just ended up replacing the previous system. The wager modes are fun, but don't reward you with any progress and are kinda pointless.
- sniping has too many nerfs
- why isn't sabotage in the tactical rotation?
- the maps suck. I can still see myself running around on MW2 maps, battling for key locations and stuff. Black Ops just seems to be a bunch of generic locations with no important landmarks.

Bleh, sometimes I feel like Treyarch never took the time to sit down and play MW2 to appreciate all the little things.

Works just fine, I don't use any other third perk.

Honestly I think COD points were put in for the sake of wager matches, otherwise there's no point. Wager matches are a lot of fun despite no reward.

Please please please go play another game then. Sniping is STUPID in CoD. Nobody should be sniping ever, MW2 sniping is completely ridiculous and unrealistic.
