yeah, CoD4 is 1000x better than the BF series will EVER be.

BF2 has some pretty awesome multiplayer. Come on - you can battle by land, air, or water and you have 64 players on huge maps. The balance might be a bit off, though.

That's the whole problem with BF2. It had lots of things that sound cool, but wasn't actually a very good game once the novelty wears off. The best and most popular make is strike at karkland, which doesn't have any vehicles and is a small, linear map.

Meh, I always liked a good all-out battle on Gulf of Omar or Dalian Plant And Karkand has lots of armor, which does a good job of spawn-killing (yes, I know there are inf-only servers). But what's the point of playing a Battlefield game with just infantry when CoD4 does infantry combat much better IMO?

if you play something like groundwars where it's like 10v10, there are a lot of grenades flying around (even on xbox live)

COD4 is MUCH, MUCH better on the 360 than on the PC
end of story

How is it better on the 360?

I have no idea what he means, and I have the 360 version. It's the best on the 360 IMO but the PC version has it beat because you can use KB/M controls, custom (free) maps, custom server settings. CoD4 360 just feels better as it's more limited in the number of players that play in a single game, so the nade spam is a lot less and I rarely feel like I died in a cheap spawn camp/nade way. BUT you can get that feeling on the PC too if you pick smaller servers.

I bought COD4 back in January. I've yet to play any of it. Too many games in queue. Once I complete Assassins Creed I'll play it.

Sharqi, Kubra, Gulf, Fushe, Dragon, Daqing > Karkand
(I'd say Dragon Valley was the best out of those.)

24/7 Karkand servers were kind of like that sticky paper that flies are attracted to. It's not that Karkand is a bad map, it's that all the retards who couldn't wrap their head around more than 1 or 2 things relied on those servers to restrict what they had to deal with.

Even servers that are good about kicking cheaters, it takes a few games to catch them, and they dominate for those few games...then they get kicked...then the next wave of people dominate until they get kicked for aimbotting or whatever. It's honestly worse than Diablo I was...

This might explain why I can never get started in a map without getting killed in the first 10 steps.

I've played COD series for many years, COD1 and COD2 have stayed alive in MP for one reason: Bolt Rifle Servers

Most good COD1/COD2 Bolt Rifle servers do not have any nades nor automatic guns. It takes actual skill to play with a mosin, kar, or Enfield Rifles.

In COD4, the best gametype is missing, Capture the Flag (CTF). CTF is fast action, but with a meaningful purpose that requires teamwork. SD is just too tactical, TDM is like the wild west, DM is where the best camper wins, and SAB is alright expect enemy sees the enemy flag carrier in the AUV for no apparent reason.

I don't expect cod4 to have a long lifespan in MP, players will get sick of it quickly.

Highly suggest trying to play on a COD4 server with a bolt rifle mod.

Here is a suggestion:

!HYPE!BoltRiflesOnly»[WashingtonDC]TeamHype.org-=Recruiting=-
COD4 Bolt Rifles Only
Located in Washington DC on InterNap
No Semi-autos, No Heli/AirStrikes, No pistols, No perks, No Nades
Only choice: Mosin, Enfield, or Kar bolt rifles
Stock maps
In-Game Voice Enabled
CTF gametype
Enabled: Anti-Camping, Kill-Cam, Taunts, PsB/ppbans Streaming
Server-IP: 208.43.81.109:28960

what the hell is anti-camping?

so, a shooter finds a good hiding spot to shoot people from.... absolutely shocking!

only weak players can't take out a sniper in TDM after getting shot the first couple times

Wake Island has to be my favorite. Massive maps are better IMO.

if BF2 is only good fro vehicle combat, why don't they have enough vehicles for everyone?
BF2 is worse than Crysis and you guys know how much I dislike crysis.

Ok, but you hate every game. You're kinda like Yahtzee, except not as funny.

I don't think they are refering to sniping spots but anti spawn camping.

Meaning, in most games, including COD4, all spawn points for a map are predetermined. Sure, a player can spawn at any of a dozen places on a map, but those places are always the same. Meaning if you and a team of a 12 can sit at every spawn point, you can kill people as they spawn and have zero chance to fight back because there is always a loading disconnect.

I wouldn't call it awful OP but I do agree with your comments. It's just more of the same COD with better graphics.

Of course console gamers will say its more fun/better on their platform. Console gamers are just getting a taste of what PC gamers have been enjoying for many years. Welcome to 1996, the year Quake hit PC.

I liked the SP part, the MP was fun for a while but like most FPS games its the same thing over and over. With the right setup on certain maps I would get over 100 kills and pretty much didnt even need to aim at anyone, just fire at a spot I know people would be running through. Since I played on Hardcore servers it couldnt be easier to get kills call in air strikes and rinse and repeat.

PC = we have the ability to ban/kick users who we think are cheating or not playing productivly, or afk for that matter
PC = we can use custom maps or custom game mods

Xbox 360 = xbox live
Xbox 360 = better voice communication(probaly) due to the fact pc people generally dont use public chat.

you guys have auto-aim...

im not saying much, because im getting a 360 soon.due to lack of pc gameplaying.

XBOX 360 = no cheaters/hackers
the autoaim is only if you're right next to the person and he runs by. it stops after he walks a few feet away. also, the autoaim isn't accurate - it's kind of delayed - so it's just there to grab your attention if you didn't see the guy walking by for some reason

How is it better on the 360?

less people so not as many nade daeths (except probably waterworks)
no hackers/cheaters
basically everyone has voice chat
the whole game played on a controller just feels better for COD4... it's kind of weird. games like counter-strike are the most fun on the PC (played xbox version and PC version) while games like COD4 are best on the 360

it's kind of weird - but cod4 is much, much more enjoyable for me on the 360 than on the pc

It's not the best FPS ever.

There are films and there are summer popcorn action movies.

COD4 is a summer popcorn action movie par excellence.

It's linear and has respawning enemies, like some sort of platformer; the plot is simple.

It's also good-looking, incredibly intense and fun; the environments as well as the 'hooks' in the levels are creative and varied enough to keep it engaging right to the end.

The multiplayer is also solid. Best thing since CS:S. With the exception of cheating helicopters and some stupid perks, it's some of the best online shooting ever.
