California Republican sends E-mail depicting Obama as an ape

An e-mail reportedly sent by party central committee member Marilyn Davenport shows an image, posed like a family portrait, of chimpanzee parents and child, with Obama's face artificially superimposed on the child. Text beneath the photo reads, "Now you know why no birth certificate."

Davenport, a tea party activist, represents the 72nd Assembly District in Orange County on the central committee.

She represents Brea, Placentia, Fullerton and portions of other Orange County cities to the county committee tasked with fundraising, campaigning and debating policy for the Republican Party.

===========================================
I thought California was all Liberal and Democrat?

This was surprising especially coming from such a huge population center.

Looks like the Tea party has successfully infiltrated California.

This is the direction the country is going, pretty disgusting but like Wisconsin, don't complain about it after you voted them in power.

First saw "Californian," and thought, "They're pretty hip. Could've been sent as satire of birther beliefs. They do make it sooo easy. Pretty lulzy in that light."

Then saw:

a tea party activist

Suddenly... probably not so lulzy.

bush was depicted as a chimp too.
There's even a messenger wink of that.

See? Bush was called one too, so calm down everyone. Even though Bush was called one for favoring one in looks and intelligence and Obama was called one for being black and Kenyan, that makes this totally OK.

She should have just sent an email threatening his life, telling him to get his affairs in order, and to wait for a bullet in the back of his and his family members' heads so they can go burn in hell. Then it would have been brushed off by the media pretty quickly.

Pretty much. *sigh*

We should also just pretend that the widespread mocking of Bush came from elected officials who of course have no obligations in conduct.

This is why I hate liberals. They think everything is fucking racism. News flash. It isn't.

California is the State where Gay Marriage was shot down, so this shouldn't surprise too many people.

There are still many conservatives in even the most liberal areas.

So where is the picture? I would feel pretty silly discussing a controversial image if I had never seen it before. That would be ignorant.

I have yet to see Obama mimic Bush's facial or behavioral likeness to an ape, ever. Obama is known for his eloquence and composure, so forgetting for a moment the tendency for racists to liken black people to monkeys and apes, do tell - what does that leave as far as justification to portray Obama as an ape?

If Obama had the same level of ignorant, dim witted apathy Bush had, the same difficulty in navigating his native tongue, the same level of incompetence, and even facial characteristics of an actual ape... it would STILL be inappropriate coming from an elected official.
If this was coming from just the standard birther idiot then it would be comparable to the Bush example. Get it yet?

Any reasonable person's reaction to this should be, at worst, "Chuckle... wow, that's racist as shit." Laughing at or even making a racist joke doesn't necessarily make someone a racist, but denying that's what it was is a pretty good indication they might be.

what OP does not mention here is that the email was sent TO OBAMA himself by a republican birther tea activist
