Illegals don't and can't pay taxes because they don't have SS#. Same concept.
The IRS will issue a Taxpayer Identification Number to anybody who doesn't have a SSN and wants to pay their taxes.

You know how the government keeps saying that it would be too expensive to deport all the illegals?

Well, I'd much rather spend billions to deport them all than spend billions fighting ISIS.

This is hard to swallow. On what points are they arguing for this to pass? Also, do other states have to accept the license when the illegal is driving out of state?

Also, what is the proof of birth? Do they make up a name? So weird.

I have zero problem with them wanting a better life, doing it the correct way I'm all for. Doing it the illegal way is what I'm not for. It seems even though it's not easy getting citizenship here, many seem to at least try, unfortunately, most here in California don't and we all pay for every single one of them being here illegally.

Plus here in California, it's not like they will do anything to you if you are an illegal citizen and caught driving. That doesn't matter to them anymore and the illegal immigrants know it which is why more and more come over. The amount of illegal immigrants that will get licenses will be a small percentage. Why pay to do something that they can already do for free with no consequences?

Well dude they are here and as much as some would disagree, they aren't going to all be deported anytime soon. So, given that they A) aren't going anywhere and B) will have to (whether anybody likes it or not) operate a vehicle as people who live and work in the US, what is your solution? Just let everyone who gets in an accident with a migrant be totally screwed? That what we do today.

The realistic, practical solution is to issue them licenses and sell them insurance so that's what we are doing. What is so hard to understand? Would you rather they just get away with paying nothing for insurance whatsoever?

What makes you think they're all of a sudden going to start obeying the law?

There aren't any real consequences for breaking it, so why would they bother following it?

If an illegal smashes my car, it would be nice they have a license and some accountability.
It's not like illegals are all going away anytime soon.
I think what pisses off most American's about illegals, that they work harder than most American citizens, take the crappier jobs, and probably have more American patriotism than most of us citizens have.
We were born here. They want to live here.

Let's see the proof that they're buying insurance. More than for the one day they need it to get a car registered. My proof of insurance says I have insurance until March of this year. It doesn't indicate if I cancelled it the day after I got it in March of 2014.

Our schools have created a slew of people that have virtually no thinking skills.

Except that this also happens in Red states too...

I'm also against the practice of giving illegal immigrants ANYTHING, BUT...look at it this way, the license they are issued looks SLIGHTLY different than the one issued to legal residents and citizens...should make it easier to round them up later...:hmm:

nchsf2-xweblicensesfull.jpg

license should look radically different. Illegals don't like it? they can go home.

It would be nice if illegals weren't here to smash your car.

Actually California is running a surplus, and is also a donor state to the federal govt, giving more money than we are receiving in benefits.
Yeah, California sucks...don't move here.....ever.

With the highest gas and income tax in the nation, you shouldn't need any federal support.

Utah, the reddest state in the nation, has been doing this for years. Since 2005. Remember, a lot of the people here have over stayed their visa. Illegal border crossing isn't the only way to deemed "illegal"

Exactly. They aren't going anywhere so let's be practical!

I also agree about the immigrant mindset. You can see this in families that are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation immigrants vs families that have been here forever; The more recent the immigration, the harder working and more patriotic the people. They CHOSE to come here and they worked hard to get here, how many of the people born here would even be capable of making that same journey were they born elsewhere? Very few, I'd guess.

Families that are born here and have never known life outside of the US have no idea how lucky they were to be born here, so they have zero appreciation. They also are not self-selecting as the most ambitious people, people who want more in life. The midwest and south are full of Americans like this, who have been here for 150 years and have never set foot outside of the lower 48. But they have all sorts of opinions on world politics!

Why do you think the midwest and south have crap universities? Are full of fat people? Take more money from the federal government than they give? Are generally considered stupid by northern/westerners? The whole region is pathetic and it pains me to know that some of my family choose to live there.

I mean, it will be hard to get proof that they are buying insurance if you won't give them a license and sell them insurance.

But sure thinking skills and all that, yours are great I see.

In many states the insurance company notifies the state whenever your car insurance lapses or is revoked or cancelled. Having the proof of insurance in the car is just so you have something to show the other driver if the police aren't going to come to the scene.

Please explain how a bankrupt state is writing checks to other states.:colbert:

1. The state isn't bankrupt.

2. California has been a net contributor of federal tax revenues for a very long time. Generally the coastal, liberal states subsidize the poorer southern and Midwestern states through federal taxes.

Did you seriously not realize this?

I'm aware of that. The state where my primary residence is does not. The question is does California? Sounds like the kind of thing they'd find to be discriminatory.
