California Drought: How Stupid Can We Be?

It amazes me that California is in the midst of what is said to be a huge drought, and yet most Counties have no mandatory water restrictions. We could nip it in the bud now and set some moderate guidelines for decreased use. I bet the simple restriction of not being allowed to water your lawn would go a long way.

Instead I guess we will wait until it is a total crisis and then have to take draconian measures to conserve water.

yep. our apartment complex still waters the lawn for an hour every fucking day. that is, when the sprinklers aren't broken in which case they just gush for an hour every fucking day.

My favorite thing about this is all the swimming pools, fountains and lush green lawns in the Central Valley, where the residents spend their evenings sitting under the misters that they left running all day, complaining about all those "fish stealin' up all the water from the farmers."

Meanwhile, in the rain-forest northern redwood forests, people are showering once a week and letting their gardens die to do their part.

The solution is and always has been to shut down the aquaduct and let people live according to the resources available where they have chosen to live.

Here is TX have 5 stages of drought ralted water restriction, stage 1 being worst. For years we are in Stage 2 or 3, Stage 3 was probably couple of years back. We can water our lawns one a week one one hour only. Another proof CA sucks

"California Drought: How Stupid Can We Be?" Duh, it's California, the sky's the limit.

no shit

Then when they actually get rain, they complain about it and act like the world is ending.

Here's the thing: if you build a massive city in a place that doesn't get much rain, you're going to have water issues. Stealing water from other parts of the state only partially solves that problem.

The big problem isn't the lack of water, its the left wing idiots that occupy the state. Everyone else should fix the problem and they should do what they want. Well screw Cali. It deserves the fate it gets.

A lot of cities in San Diego use reclaimed water for landscaping.

I have reduced the amount I water my lawn and try to conserve as much as possible.

🙄 No, I'm pretty sure it's a lack of water (specifically rainfall).

ya'll realize the part of CA that's actually screwed provides food for the rest of the country right?

Lemme know when you come up with a desalinization method that doesn't cost $1b.

so what if it does cost $1b? You need it.

Shall we post Cali's budget for the past 20 years and show you how many you could have built without all the stupid shit you bought?
