I'll do this, but instead of rounding the tip itself I round the bill to the whole dollar amount. In this case $121.17 -->$122 or $121 depending on service (usually it's rounded up though and if it was great food/service would go up to $125).

eh.. i usually just look at it and pick a number.. it doesnt work out to be exactly 15% or 18% every time. I usually do 10%, then round up to the nearest dollar that I think gets me to around 15%, so sometimes it's probably >20%, other times, it's probably more like 12%

Yea, this is pathetic. I'm usually a pretty good tipper cause my parents were busboy/waitress when they were younger and beat it into me. 20% is the norm, 25% if it's good.

Plus I don't like fucking with people who prepare my food.

15% isn't hard... take 10%, half that, and add the two together... that said, I generally just tip 20%

You still get your full hourly/salary rate even if you fuck up (pending you are hourly or salaried).

For $27.68 round up to $28, so 15% is $2.8 +$1.4 = $4.20 easy...

(Granted that without the rounding it is $4.15, but if an extra 5c tip is going to break the bank you have bigger problems)
