If that ever happened I would have no problem sacrificing my life to kill the politician responsible... assuming it was national of course. Who gives a shit about California? Congrats on Lifer btw.

I'd actually support that ... anything over 200% d/v of saturated fat

We should also add high taxes to any cars that have over a certain number of horsepower that may lead to speeding and resulting accidents. All those accidents costs the rest of us tons of money.

There is already a huge population doing mail orders. A lot of the mail order companies run operations on Indian reservation land IN California. Because of this, they are exempt from taxes.

All the taxes are useless. I personally think the idea is stupid. Like another poster stated, pretty soon government will get rid of everything that's supposedly bad for you. I'm not a smoker, but if I wanted to, I want that option. What happened to my unalienable right for the pursuit of happiness?

If you tax cigaretts, you must place a tax on other hazardous lifestyle choices. Otherwise, placing a tax JUST on cigarettes is retarded.

And barely constitutional.

I'm tired of the "I'm holier than thou so I'll pass laws to make you do what I want you to" mindset in this country.

As long as it's not their bull being gored, people don't give a fvck.

I talked to a friend from calif who was a smoker a few years ago. He told me almost everyone smoke in his hs. In my hs, which is in hs, I rarely saw anyone smoke. the cost of a pack of cigs in NY is double of what it cost in cali.

That tax already exists, and it's expensive.

In some states there may already a loophole. In Illinois where I used to live, you could buy tobacco without the tax hitting you. Many people bought the tobacco and a machine that would load cigarettes. A friend did the math and said it costs him about $1 to make a pack that way.

Try this- I remember when a pack was 20 cents. You should have heard the screaming when they went to 21 cents.
