Frankly, I'm not too against this. I pay tax on most stuff I buy online anyway, especially computer parts. The only major place that doesn't tax is Amazon, and they don't have any stores. I have to pay tax when I shop in a store, I also should pay tax online. Also, I voted for Davis because the state of California is not entirely his fault. He also tried to limit new annual expenses but both parties voted for new programs. If you blame California's woes on Davis, then you also have to blame the economy on Bush. Besides, Republicans were just plain stupid to vote for Simon over the guy who's name I can't spell, Rirden.

Any one who voted for Davis is dumber than a box of rocks. You included.

Sen. Michael Reagan? Buh-bye, Gray Davis?

Michael Reagan "may be considering" a bid for the U.S. Senate seat held by far-left Democrat Barbara Boxer, United Press International reported today.

In addition to his famous name, Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan, has a large national following thanks to his radio program.

Something else to shake up the Golden State: rumors of a left-right coalition to mount a recall campaign against widely despised Gov. Gray "Shakedown" Davis.

"The effort will be mounted under the theory that voters in a recall election are asked whether they want to retain or oust the object of the recall and, at the same time, are given a chance to choose a replacement from among a list of those who filed for consideration. If a majority of voters chose to oust Davis then the candidate who gets the most votes among the potential replacements becomes governor," says UPI.

i think the new tax plan is reffering to online stores like bn.com (barnes & noble). Barnes and Noble has b&m stores in california but their online site is not operated within california so they do not charge sales tax for orders going to california. basically they're trying to cover up a hole in the system.

you are 100% correct. Davis is just trying to collect the taxes that California is due.

So why did you reelect him?

That's just the thing, I didn't..

I blame every person in CA that did vote for him for this problem.. PERSONALY.. If you voted for Davis, you can't complain.. It's your fault!:|

Actually it is the Republicans who are at fault. In their misguided wisdom (or lack of) they nominated a corrupt Fundie Businessman that had no chance of winning over Davis. On the other hand Riordan, the Moderate Republican Candidate, would have beat Davis easily. In fact there is rumor that the Republican Primary was tainted with Democrat money used to push Simon over the top because the Democrats knew that Davis would beat Simple Simon but lose big to Riordan.

I wouldn't be amazed by that in the least. Cali is so liberal they would do anything and EVERYTHING to keep a Republican out of office. Is that the republicans fault? Hell yeah, they should have never let anyone taint a race that would hurt them in the end.

Both parties are so crooked that I don't know how it will ever change. The options for voting are SO EVIL that everyone is afraid to vote their heart because they feel they would be allowing the worse of two evils to win. I am in that same boat. I am pretty far to the right but I ended up voting for Bush not because I thought he would make a good president but because I sure as hell didn't want Gore in the office.

The majority of them are Moderate. Remember, out of the 9.5 million votes cast in the Presidential election GW got a little over 4 million.

1. So now that the dot.com industry is dead, they want to charge them money?
2. Since when do you charge sales tax for any out-of-state purchases? Mail order (remember that?) never did that.

You obviously didn't read the article or have any idea what this tax is. It has nothing to do with charging the dot.com industry money.

Why do you CA people keep voting these dems into office?
Because when they vote for Republicans they end up with asswipes like Pete Wislon, the dipsh!t who was behind the BS deregualtion of the Power Companies here in CA that is one of the main reasons for the problem we have now with the Deficit.

The Democratic party attacked Riordan in the PRIMARY.. They did Simon's job for him. Slam campains for weeks before.. I didn't like Riordan (too much citizen-disarmament in him), but he would have been better.

CA is trying to tax everything.. You get wind of the SUV tax? How about the soft drink tax? Tobacco tax? Tobacco money doesn't even go to TRY and stop smoking or help the people with lung disease, you know THE ONES THIS MONEY WAS FOR!!! No.. they spend the $$$ on other social give away crap!..

My buddy (& his wife), just had a baby girl.. A county rep came and asked him if he would like any books for the baby... He thought this was wierd, seeing as how his daughters eyes could barely open yet.. And he was like sure I guess, where do these free books come from? Oh.. It's what we're doing with the tobacco tax & settlement money was the answer.

Deficit = Spend more than you bring in

Davis = 37% growth of government

Wilson's problem how?

Because Davis screwed the pooch in the electrical "shortage", or as I prefer to call it "GOUGE period". Davis sent in "negotiators" for long term contracts with the electric companies that had no experience in negotiating these things.. The only thing %40 of them knew was that THEY OWNED STOCK IN THE ELECTRICAL COMPANIES...

Fox meet henhouse
Henhouse meet fox..

I never said that Davis wasn't partially responsible, I was just truthfully answering what happens when we elect Republicans here in Ca.

The Bay Area is not the only liberal part of Cali. Don't forget greater LA. Orange county is conservative. I think the valley areas are split. I can't believe I'm stuck with these idiot Democrats ruining our state. Everyone saying that Riordan would have easily won is right. There were a large number of people who didn't vote for Simon and instead voted 3rd party, like I did. Simon is an idiot and Davis has the state bent over backwards in the worst way.

I can't wait for the next election. This time, I don't really care who the Republican cadidate is, but he's getting my vote. Apparently Schwarzenegger is starting to become a serious candidate. We'll see how that goes.

Blah, now I'm getting all worked up over this crap...:disgust::|
