C4 Ngen is now shipping. It is a high performance mousing surface made of teflon and bonded to a rubber gripping material. I've been using it for about 3 - 4 weeks now and really like it. For me it replaces an everglide giganta. It rolls up easily for taking it to lan parties etc, but be careful because it is so thin (it's meant to be) that it creases easily.

Yea. I have the original C4 beta, and this thing rocks! I say it compares very well to the Rat Padz and the Funcs, if not better. Definately worth the small investment.

I prefer it quite a bit over the ratpad/everglide. However I have never used a Func so I couldn't tell you.

It is the best sruface I have ever used.

714xkickx would you like to tell us more about your experiences or are you just thread crapping?

How did you get C4 Ngen? were you a beta tester? I don't see any responses by you in the Beta thread, so if you were a tester, you did not respond as per the testing agreement.

I want to buy a Ngen and some teflon pads for my mx700. Right now i have a Ratpadz GS, so the C4 would go over my ratpadz, but I dont see any of the Ngen with sticky backs? Anyone know if they will be available any time?

C4 has an adhesive back

C4 Ngen has a rubber gripping back

That is the difference between the two

So you can either put the Ngen on your ratpad

Or you can stick orignal C4 to it

so if I were to buy the C4-NGen with Black Silicone Rubber Backing, Small

this is just the mouse pad right ?

do I also have to buy: C4-NGen Accessory, Teflon Mouse Discs, 10 pack with Sticky Back

do you HAVE to have the mouse discs to glide on the surface ? or will the little mouse feet work fine ?

I have a logitech MX 300

That depends on what kind of condition your mouse feet are in. Also, there are alot of mixed opinions on this. Some people don't like C4 without the mouse feet, I on the other hand don't like the mouse feet and don't use them. I use a razer boomslang 2100 though

Oh. I wasn't a betta tester. I bought the C4 beta. I think taht's what it was called at the time. The C4 on top of the rubber backing, not the new thin ones. The old one

I just bought a the Super Size 16"x20" one for $20.05 shipped. very good deal.

btw, JohnBear, you may want to change your title to "high performance mouse pad" as the C4 NGen is no longer just a surface, but a whole pad.

Hm... Just got mine today (medium) and I must say I'm rather disappointed. Using MX510 mouse with teflon tape on the skates it generates quiet a bit of noise and not nearly as smooth as my func pad. The rubber bottom is good and works quiet well, but overall I'm not too happy :( Will give it a day or two and see how it does in CS, but so far it looks like I'll be going back to my func pad.

If the c4ngen surface is just like the c4 mousemat then the fUnc pad is the way to go. I was very disappointed in my mousemat as it wore down within a weeks time. When I first got it it was slick but after some use you could feel where my mouse wore down the surface. It was slick on the outside and rough in the center (where my mouse is used most).

If this surface is more durable then I may look into it but until then I pray for fUnc to come out with a HUGE pad.

dammit NightFalcon I posted to your comment without reading the whole thread.

Anyway I guess we both feel the same way about the fUnc.

Out of curiousity, any particular reason a new thread was begun rather than posting an update in this thread?

In any event, a number of user comments in the original thread, for those seeking feedback.

Try it without skates.

Perhaps your mouse feet were worn out? Who knows. No product is right for everyone though. However I used my original C4 Stuck to an everglide giganta for months, and it didn't see any wear at all. And that's with alot of gaming, average 3 -4 hours per day I would say on gaming. and 6- 8 overall use per day.

I read all the "hype" on the other threads and thats why I ordered the c4. I even got 2 other people to order it cause I believed all the bs I read. I just dont want anyone else wasting their money reading that thread thinking they are getting the BEST mousing surface when it clearly isnt. Hands down best surface is the fUnc buts its on the smaller side (10x11). If you are looking for a huge slick pad then get the new c4 pad but beware it will wear down on you. I stopped using my c4 within a weeks time.

You want the BEST get a fUnc
You want a BIG slick surface get the ngen.
