thats bull, what are you doing to it? mines been ok for quite some time without even a hint of wear. my older year old c4 has no wear either. your mouse feet must be made of sandpaper. do yourself a favor and buy some teflon mouse tape next time.

There isn't one thread for EVERY product made by a certain manufacturer. Every time EA has a new game we don't just add it to a post concerning another EA game.

Hands down best surface is the fUnc buts its on the smaller side (10x11). If you are looking for a huge slick pad then get the new c4 pad but beware it will wear down on you. I stopped using my c4 within a weeks time.

You want the BEST get a fUnc
You want a BIG slick surface get the ngen.

You are the ONLY person that has ever said that C4 has worn out for them.

Nobody 'bought' the Beta test pad. You are making things up now. The Beta pads were sent out to Beta testers for free, for testing. You couldn't buy beta test pads.

edit: If I am wrong i'll apologize, but it sounds like you are just trolling.

heh indeed. his pads are probably worn and the plastic is rubbing on atleast one corner. its happened to me before i started using mouse tape. i wore flat spots on a ratz and everglide. same material as func type. took about a year of hard use. no pads invincible, but teflon c4 pad + teflon tape on mouse? thats low low wear!

I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm not even saying it didn't, i'm just saying it's quite an anomaly after such a short time. I wore out an everglide as well, after quite some time. Perhaps he got a bad pad. No product has perfect quality control. I just think it's not very smart to judge a product on one instance of it failing, every product fails at some point.

It was a brand new mx500 and feet are perfectly fine. Im pretty anal when it comes with these things so its NOT the mouse feet. I even bought a piece of glass to mount the surface to so I can assure you Im not making anything up after spending that much money.

I bought the teflon feet but I prefer the hard plastic feet on the mouse.

Anyway that same mouse hasnt worn down my fUnc pad so obviously its a c4 issue. If Im not mistaken the c4 pad has a coating while the fUnc pad isnt coated with anything. The fUnc pad IS the best pad you can buy. Too bad its small. :(

Im not saying the c4 sux Im simply saying you guys are exaggerating how good it is and I dont want others wasting money on a product based on your reviews. You guys both post like you have an agenda so it makes me wonder some times.

The fUnc pad is nothing like the ratz or any other plastic pad. I know cause I own many plastic pads along with a fUnc and c4. Do you?

Know what you are talking about before posting. k? thx

I will be posting a full review on both the C4 and C4 Ngen very soon.

During my testing period, I noticed after shortly usage my hand keeps on getting 'stuck' to the c4 surface. Especially the C4 Ngen.

I don't have any kind of agenda. I've just been using the C4 for along time and think it's the best mouse pad i've ever used. Just like you don't want people to waste money, I don't want anyone to miss out on it because one person had a bad experience with it.(Besides for 714xkickz but he is either trolling or is really inarticulate.) I still don't understand why yours would have worn out when no one else's has, but that doesn't mean I don't beleive you. Have you tried contacting the company and asking them about it? I'd be interested in seeing their response. I'm sure that out of all the people that bought the Func pad there was at least one person who didn't like it :p I'm not pushing C4 nearly as much as you are the Func, BTW. I just said C4 is the best i've ever used, you said "The func pad IS the best pad you can buy." So who has the agenda lol? maybe YOU are working for fUnc :p I doubt this, however it's no more wild than your own veiled accusation.

I have that problem as well if my hands get sweaty, that is a drawback.

There isn't one thread for EVERY product made by a certain manufacturer. Every time EA has a new game we don't just add it to a post concerning another EA game.
Would bode well for those seeking information to update the initial post in this thread to include a link to the original thread in ATHD, as well as the thread (or threads, if more than one is available) in the Peripherials section where discussion took place regarding this particular type of product.

Wouldn't truly classify such as a new product, but rather a product revision or generation. The example offered concerning EA products seems rather absurd in comparsion, but that is merely personal opinion. Regardless, would certainly aid others (specifically those who were not party to either of the aforementioned threads) to update the original post to include the above mentioned information. For ease of use, including said information here until the initial post is updated:

Link to original ATHD thread entitled "C4 Mousepad out of Beta" found here.
Link to Peripherials thread entitled "*C4 Beta Part 2* Thoughts on the NGen continued..." found here.

I like absurdity. However I did add your lengths, that WAS a good idea.

So...back on the actual topic...

I have some regular stick on C4 that I ordered a couple weeks ago, along with Teflon discs. It really is quite excellent. I can make per-pixel movements very easily in precision shooters such as Call of Duty. I don't think they make C4 out of Teflon anymore, I'm pretty sure the newer stuff is Kapton, another film also made by DuPont (check the CS Hyde site for details, under films). I'm pretty sure Kapton is a much stronger, more durable film, something great for a mousepad that you don't want to wear over time. I think the C4 is just Kapton which is textured for optical tracking.

Even though there is very minimal sticking on minute mouse movements, I decided to try putting some leftover C4 over my mouse feet to see what would happen. Whoa does it slide. It feels just as smooth or smoother than Teflon mouse discs on an Icemat, which is the best thing I've seen so far (also expensive!). The only thing was that it made a really loud grinding noise, from the two textured surfaces rubbing against each other. It did stick physically sometimes, like the textured bumps would literally lock tegether like velcro. A solution would probably be using a smooth version of the C4, probably like the rolls and discs of Kapton tape that CS Hyde so conviently makes. My only concern is how it would wear over a long period of time. The Telfon feels a lot softer and weaker than the C4, so they wear out and get replaced well, well before the C4 ever gets damaged. That may have been the idea CS Hyde had in mind. However, with Kapton on Kapton, the frictional force is so damn low that wear will be very minimal over time to boot. I also think they should look into using other films, for either mouse surfaces or for mouse feet, in addition to the current options of C4 and Teflon (i.e. some of that crap could be really expensive).

One Quick Update: The Response of this Forum and Fragzilla Lan has been so phenomenal that we are almost stocked out on C4-NGen. More arrives next week.

We are designing another NEW version for release for Sep/Oct. Stay tuned.
