C2D Vcore question

It seems like 1.45 vcore is the most commonly used voltage to push the E4000 and the E6000 cpus above 3.2 Ghz and I was curious how safe this really is. I plan on using an XP-90 after market cooler and I believe this will be more than enough. Opinions?
 
I'd like to know as well. I've bumped my E6400 up to 1.3875 in BIOS to get 3.2 stable with a Zalman 9700.

How high is too high? You see AT using 1.5V in their reviews . . . no way I'm pumping mine THAT high.
 
I'd say anything 1.5V and under is perfectly safe. Some go up to 1.6V and don't hear troubles with that but that's too high, IMO.
 
1.300V -1.350V -- Intel Stock HSF
1.350V - 1.4V -- Low-mid range aftermarket HSF
1.4V - 1.55V -- High end aftermarket HSF
1.55V and over -- Water cooling


These are just my suggestions though.

Depends also on if you have an A or B batch. B's run hotter with slight vcore increase. I wouldn't try more than 1.5 on water with a B as they can hit upwards of 70C's even on water.
