If you like 4:3 it looks like a good TV to me, but I think Crutchfield is too expensive.
I would get it from Circuit City for $712.

Nah, gonna stick to a physical tv. Projection just doesn't do it for me. I might just go for that 30" samsung. And to think before I posted on here I was 100% going to get that Sony, lol.

Now you guys are making me kinda lean to 16:9.... argh! But then again "soon all channels will be in 16:9" means in years (5ish, no?)
In any case, I found this samsung for $899 :

Seems like a good set and fits in the space I need.

Samsung looks nicer, but not sure if there are any technical consequences to that "slimfit" design...

Yes, but "regular TV" is going to be widescreen soon enough. Many (most?) HDTV programs are widescreen. In a few years, EVERYTHING you watch on a 4:3 TV is going to be letterboxed...
Do you have any idea how many years (decades?) I've been hearing that? Go here and click the "HDTV Only" option. I don't know about you, but I ain't seeing nothin' worth spending big bucks on a TV for. Then, there's the whole current DVD issue...

One more thing: Are the actual screen sizes on all 30" 16:9 relatively the same? What would the dimensions be?

Way too much effort doing the math yourself.
