So in the case of EVE, is buying a small amount of isk really a bad idea? It would literally take years to learn every skill in the game, nobody has yet or ever will. The biggest chunk of money I've seen for sale doesn't come close to affording you really anything of particular mention anymore, since many things are being sold in the billions now. It's more of a boost, than a way to buy yourself in.
I can see in other games, like WoW for instance, it being pretty stupid. In a game like that you can just buy everything available... but when you do that, what's the point anymore? Seems like a waste. EVE is just not like other MMOs. I don't feel bad about buying 200 million isk at all. Not one bit. At least, not after being podded 3 times tonight. I swear I'm going to get every last one of those pirates.
That's not the way WoW works. The best items bind to you when you pick them up. The ones that bind when you equip them are nice, but no where near the best.
