With the requirements in your OP that you can't by any seperate accessories, you might be better off looking at already accessorized rifles at gunshops instead of chain sporting good stores. Not sure if they will load one up with all the goodies and invoice it as one purchase.

You're completely missing the point, you need to re-read the OP at least 5 more times because you STILL aren't getting it.

I understand the question.

I disagree with buying something that cost more money "just because."

So what if you have $2,000 to spend on something. Buy a $1,000 rifle, keep the other $1,000 for yourself. If anyone that ask how much the rifle cost, tell them $2,000.

Rifle - $1,000
Pick up and delivery fee - $1,000

There, you have your rifle and you paid yourself to go get it.

If someone told me their Bushmaster cost $2,000 I'd immediately label them as a liar in my head.

Why buy Intel SSDs? Why buy Ralph Lauren polo shirts? Why buy a BMW?

Premium products often carry intangible benefits, in service, support or just prestige.

The optional 40mm grenade launcher attachment should come in handy for school busses filled with screaming childrean or larger than normal deer.

Your thinking too small.

That 40mm launcher is going to come in handy after the next nuclear war with the aliens and you have to fight cockroaches as big as horses.

You didn't re-read the OP again did you? HE DOESN'T GET $2K TO BLOW. If he doesn't spend it all, he loses it. He's not given a stack of bills to have fun with... businesses require a receipt for such things. He can't say his $1000 cost $2000 without proof and just pocket the rest. Why not get the absolute best you can when regardless of your choice all you end up with is the gun (and no money or accessories).

You seriously have a problem with both reading comprehension and writing ability. Is english not your first language? If that's the case I'll stop giving you such a hard time. If not you need to slow the hell down because these questions were answered within 3 sentences of the OP.

There comes a point where the extra cost does not justify the value. So what if he has 2 grand to spend on a rifle, no stock AR-15 is worth anything close to that.

By spending 2 grand on a stock AR-15, he is in fact blowing the money.

If no accessories can not be bought, get the Bushmaster, it has built in sights. The S&W M&P is only a rail system and has no sights.

You seriously have a problem with both reading comprehension and writing ability.

And you sir are acting like a bully.

2k would get him a NICE AR-15 with full float rails.

So no appreciation for quality and no sense of integrity?

Just because people can afford to blow money on expensive items, does not mean they "appreciate quality" or have a sense of "sense of integrity."

Expensive does not guarantee quality
Overspending does not guarantee integrity

I doubt a base model AR-15 is even in the $2,000 price range.

Even though there are some models in the $1,200, or $1,300 range, I just can not see it. If a $950 product does the same thing as a $1,200, I would have to buy the $950. I can not justify spending the extra money just to say I own something of a certain brand name.

I mentioned integrity because earlier on you said you would lie and say you had paid more than you actually had. I meant personal integrity on your part.

I tend more towards the "you get what you pay for" school of thought.

Does your wife have the same sensibilities? Purses and shoes from JC Penney instead of Coach and Louis Vuitton?

Considering we do not know where the $2,000 came from, I do not know if we should call my statement a lie.

Same here.

My wife usually shops at bealls, some of the local family owned stores, and even wal-mart.

Man, the fucking military doesn't even pay $2k for the M-16 variants. That should tell you how much a $2k rifle is over priced.

OP - back when I was looking there was a FINE LMT with all the bells for 1800, likely a little less these days. I can't remember the model. But honestly for that price you can get a fine rifle and spend the rest on optics.
