Buying a PS3. Care to recommend me a few games?

I would suggest you wait for the psn to get restored so you can use it online unless for whatever reason you don't plan on hooking it up.

I have 56k so I won't have any internet on it (unless windows internet connection sharing counts) also, I'll be homebrewing and running linux as soon as 3.60 gets hacked.

also as a side note, you won't really be missing Mass Effect on the PS3. You'll only miss Mass Effect 1. They released Mass Effect 2 (with the Mass Effect 3 engine) for the PS3:

Dude, that alone made my day! I can't believe that M$ would port it to PS3.
Seems like I'll have to finish the first one now on my PC.
Now if only they would port Halo 3, ODST and Reach to PS3...

ME2 on PS3 has a section like a comic book that you can use to make the serious decisions from ME and fill you in on everything. And MS didn't port it, they only published the 1st one, and EA did the second.
