Buying a new Truck

I have finally succumbed. After test driving quite a few trucks and debating on what features I wanted when I decided on a Toyota Tacoma (see this thread), I have finally decided on a truck.

It is going to be a 2005 Toyota Tacoma Black, 4x4, TRD Offroad, V6, 6 spd manual, Access cab. The truck is supposed to be delivered to the dealership on 12/31/2004. perfect thing to celebrate the new year in. I'm definitely looking forward to this truck...I've been wanting one for a while.

Anyone interested in a black '99 Mazda Millenia S (supercharged)? 🙂

Congrats! My buddy bought a brand new 03 tacoma silver last year too. Its an awesome truck.

While the X-Runner is nice...I need a truck that can go offroad and haul some stuff on the weekends...otherwise I'd be buying an RX-8 or something.

26,127 after tax/fees. The MSRP was 27,551. Wasn't the greatest deal...but better than most Toyota places were doing since this truck is a hot commodity and the particular specs I was looking for were hard to come by.

Oh yeah Amigaman...I mean't to tell you that after researching, it appears that the manual transmission does not affect towing capacity, so I went ahead and went with the manual even with the mpg penalty.

If a 2005 truck costs 20,000
and a 2001 BMW costs 20,000

Which would you choose. Please say the bmw, if not--then donate all your organs and quit life.

Dont think there are nice bm's for 20,000

www.ebay.com , and enjoy I usually type in "bmw*" , I check buy it now, and check max price of 15,000

when I want to look at realistic options.

sweet! You did well, that's a good price. My 04 doublecab prerunner was ~$22K out the door. I'd have chosen a different color since black looks dirtier than other colors. But when it's nice and cleaned up, black looks the nicest. I'm just a lazy butt and don't wash my truck as much as I should. But Lunar Mist (silver) hides dust and dirt well.

who the hell said anything about a bmw? I'd choose the truck anyways, I'll never own or want a bmw unless it was given to me and they paid my insurance.

Are you just a retard or do you just have the intelligence of a 12 year old. Wait, maybe 13. How is a BMW going to haul stuff in its trunk? God damn, you are just a retard.

Should try to find a 2004 Tundra Double Cab. I heard they have a $3k rebate on those right now.

Dude... I don't need a BMW...I need a truck. Don't tell me what I should have bought...I know what I need, and the Tacoma fits the bill perfectly. Yes, buying a used truck would have been a smarter financial decision...but that's my business.

WTF? Because the off road capability of used German cars is so great?

BTW-Used BMW=money pit.
New BMW=a couple good years and then money pit.

If I hadn't already bought a car this year, I might indeed have been interested in your Mazda. I always liked the Millenias. Oh well.

I actually looked at 2004 Tundras and it was more than I needed. To get the TRD, I would have still been paying a good bit more than I did. I also took a look at 2004 Tacomas, Titans, Dodge Ram/Dakotas, and Chevy Silvarados/Colorados. I just fell in love with the Tacoma...it just fit my needs perfectly.

It's all good. I'll throw in a romp with my girlfriend if that would sweet'n the deal.

Well congrats! The Tacoma is a sweet truck. I actually prefer the '04 model though to the new Tacoma. Just looks better IMO. You made the right choice though in not getting the Dodge or the Chevy. Those are junk.

I just went and configurated a 2005 Tacoma DoubleCab Prerunner TRD which came out to close to $28K. But man I think I'm beginning to fall in love with the looks. It took a while, but it's growing on me. Damn Damn Damn! But I'm satisfied with my 04. I may be jealous of you for a while, hope you don't mind 😉

Tacoma is a nice truck, if I end up buying a truck, which it looks like I might be doing, it will be either the Tundra or the Tacoma, not sure yet.

I've driven the Tundra Double Cab and I owned a 2000 Tundra Access Cab for almost 3 years. The new DC is a really nice truck. Tundra=Lexus of pickup trucks. If you don't need to tow a house the Tundra is the way to go.

Yup--I am retarded. Instead of 2 people in the "cab", imagine 5, in a BMW.

Call me retarded all you want, Id pick a BMW over a truck anyday.

But yet again--im not a hick.
