26,127 after tax/fees. The MSRP was 27,551. Wasn't the greatest deal...but better than most Toyota places were doing since this truck is a hot commodity and the particular specs I was looking for were hard to come by.

WTF!!! nearly 30,000 for a compact truck???1111one!!1juan!!1

They're not really that compact anymore. These trucks are getting close to fullsize but not quite there. Plus if you configure a similarly equipped fullsize domestic, you'll probably go over $30K. Then there's the whole Toyota quality/brand name that you pay a premium for. Personally I don't think I'd have been happy with a Ranger, S10, or Dakota.

Should try to find a 2004 Tundra Double Cab. I heard they have a $3k rebate on those right now.

I actually looked at 2004 Tundras and it was more than I needed. To get the TRD, I would have still been paying a good bit more than I did. I also took a look at 2004 Tacomas, Titans, Dodge Ram/Dakotas, and Chevy Silvarados/Colorados. I just fell in love with the Tacoma...it just fit my needs perfectly.

Tacoma is a nice truck, if I end up buying a truck, which it looks like I might be doing, it will be either the Tundra or the Tacoma, not sure yet.

I've driven the Tundra Double Cab and I owned a 2000 Tundra Access Cab for almost 3 years. The new DC is a really nice truck. Tundra=Lexus of pickup trucks. If you don't need to tow a house the Tundra is the way to go.

Yeah, got a fam, so i would be buying the DC, you recommend?

I am thinking the Tacoma might be too small in the long run... just don't know yet...

Dont think there are nice bm's for 20,000

www.ebay.com , and enjoy I usually type in "bmw*" , I check buy it now, and check max price of 15,000

when I want to look at realistic options.

Are you just a retard or do you just have the intelligence of a 12 year old. Wait, maybe 13. How is a BMW going to haul stuff in its trunk? God damn, you are just a retard.

Yup--I am retarded. Instead of 2 people in the "cab", imagine 5, in a BMW.

Call me retarded all you want, Id pick a BMW over a truck anyday.

But yet again--im not a hick.

But you are dumb.

Well congrats! The Tacoma is a sweet truck. I actually prefer the '04 model though to the new Tacoma. Just looks better IMO. You made the right choice though in not getting the Dodge or the Chevy. Those are junk.

Are you serious? Silverados are definitely NOT junk. Jesus christ..don't be an idiot like monzi.

I can imagine 5 just fine in my doublecab pickup truck. Yes, you're not a hick, you're just an misinformed 13 year old prepubescent kid who still is sucking on his mommas teet.

I sat in a Tacoma (with the 4 full doors) at my local Toyota dealership recently and the back seat was quite roomy. The Tundra is definitely roomier and I like the interior materials on the Tundra much more than the Tacoma I sat in. Fuel economy is slightly worse in the Tundra but not enough that you would notice a big difference in your monthly fuel budget.

Okay, I retract the junk comment. I just don't like the domestics. I've had nothing but trouble with them. Especially the Dodge and GM. You can't go wrong with Toyota though.

I just went and configurated a 2005 Tacoma DoubleCab Prerunner TRD which came out to close to $28K. But man I think I'm beginning to fall in love with the looks. It took a while, but it's growing on me. Damn Damn Damn! But I'm satisfied with my 04. I may be jealous of you for a while, hope you don't mind 😉

No problem...I'll make sure to post pics to fuel the jealousy as soon as I pick it up.

heh, I don't know why I'm responding to this guy, but it sure is fun. Ok, let's compare a truck I DO HAVE versus a car YOU WISHED YOU HAD. Plus, you just proved how immature you are. I don't race vehicles. I don't buy vehicles to race other vehicles. I would never race you, as I don't have the need to brag. I have a TRUCK. Any truck that I would own is for the sole purpose of hauling people and things. And yes Mr. BragsAboutHisEPenis, your BMW would TOTALLY OWN ME ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! But you know what, I don't care. You can go ahead and inflate your pathetic manhood if you want and race me stoplight to stoplight. I'll still do 5 over the speed limit and ya know what, I'll get to that damn stoplight eventually. I'm in no hurry to get to it. Why are you?

What are you? 12? Are you even old enough to drive? I'd bet that I've been driving longer than you've been alive.

BTW, I actually owned 2 3-series BMWs. And you know what? I'd probably never buy another one as long as I live because they are expensive to maintain, they do break down periodically and there are more reliable cars for the money. BMWs aren't all that. Get over it.

I find it hard to believe you have a kid.

How about we load up both vehicles with 2000 pounds of concrete, then see who wins the race?

I'm sorry about that man. I know how it is to want to be happy for your new vehicle (regardless of it's a truck or BMW) and to want to share that with others. You're gonna have to post pics when you get it so we can all drool over it and lust after it. Except maybe monzi.

While the X-Runner is nice...I need a truck that can go offroad and haul some stuff on the weekends...otherwise I'd be buying an RX-8 or something.
[Edit] Oops, looks like he was dealt with already...and then some 😉

I'm selling the S2000 soon and would really like a Tacoma but am on the fence re: getting it or spending half on a lightly used F150/Silverado. When GM comes out with their hybrid trucks in a year or so, it'll throw some more kinks into the process 😕

In any case, congrats man 🙂

New vehicles are fun

Oh trust me--if its a car, new, looks nice--ill still drool over it. But what I was TRYING to say--is that if I had any amount of money to even purchase a car in the first place--I would probably choose a diffrent car, as for I dont have personal use for a truck....

But *I WILL* be drooling over it. That I can promise.

Dude, you just don't get it. LEAVE THIS THREAD ALONE. No one cares about what you think. Can't you let PricklyPete be happy with what he got? Why do you have to keep coming in here? It's better to have everyone think you're a fool than to open your mouth and prove them all right.
