You understand people have perverted the definition for a reason right? If politicians had to call it a semiautomatic rifle then they couldnt lump it in with what the military carries. The definition of an assault rifle since the first one came off the line in Nazi germany nearly 70 years ago. And it isnt what an AR-15 is.

I don't disagree but it doesn't address the point that someone else thinks they can divine what I think an assault rifle is. What I know the technical definition to be. Or whether I believe the civilianized variants should be banned or not.

that is the post of a stupid person.

then you should ban all semi-automatic weapons, because they can all be used to kill or injure a large number of people?

as a gun-owner, i'm not opposed to REASONABLE measures to prevent these tragedies. the problem is everyone is being unreasonable (and i notice a lot of people ignoring the mental health aspect)

I have focused on mental heath in my posts in other threads that have the shooting as the subject at hand actually.

Shrubmaster guns are crap anyways, who gives a shit. Every gun company run by Cerberus sucks balls.
Bushmaster makes mass market rifles that sell wholly on their name alone. If you ask anyone on a gun forum what AR-15 you should purchase, Bushmaster is never mentioned once.

Actually the people who ran Bushmaster before it sold to Cerberus started a new company, Windham Weaponry, which makes some decent rifles.

It doesn't matter what you think an assault rifle is. "Assault Rifle" describes a specific type of firearm.

It'd be like referring to a Glock as a revolver. Even if it's your opinion that a Glock is a revolver, you're objectively wrong.

Not to get too far off topic, Bushmaster makes a pretty wide range and I've found the top of the line to be pretty solid. I had some experience with a Bushmaster Modular and it shot very well, quality components and good fit and finish. I probably wouldn't buy a Bushmaster myself but for someone on a budget they can get a a decent rifle in the $1100-$1300 range. Even DPMS, which I would never own, makes a couple OK ones at their top end... a buddy had one with a longer, stainless barrel, free float and dual stage trigger, etc and it was a nice accurate rifle for hunting that held up to wear and tear nicely. There's a lot of elitist AR pricks out their who swear by the small "boutique" makers but you CAN get good mass produced rifles for a fair price, like one of the rifles I own, an Armalite spr mod1.

Hopefully the quality of Remington and Marlin firearms will go up as they get new owners. No more Remlins please.

I bought an 870 a few weeks ago and it seems to be well made. Not the prettiest gun in the world with the matte finish and laminate stock but it has functioned flawlessly so far.

Fuck off I know that a Glock is a magazine fed semi-auto pistol.

And I know what qualifies as an assault rifle and I know you're a complete dipshit.

I'm sure the 870 is still a fine shot gun. The thing that bug me the most is the quality of the Marlin 336 series, such as the 336C. I wanted one for a deer gun, but the newer ones have quality issues. If you look closely, the lever action is very stiff, the wood quality is abysmal, the fitting is hit or miss.
