President Bush, in the most forceful defense yet of his Iraq war policy, accused critics Friday of trying to rewrite history and charged that they're undercutting America's forces on the front lines.

Is it any wonder half the country has grown to hate this man? Using Veterans day to smear his critics? His logic being that if you want to support the troops you must not criticize him?
Well, you moron, I support our troops MORE than you do. I know this because if I followed your thinking we would never end any war since their would be no opposition to it. The last refuge of the incompetent is hoisting the flag and saying your critics are unpatriotic. You sir, are clearly incompetent.

I would also like to take this opportunity to ask the Vice President how he has the nerve to show up on Veterans day to salute the troops risking their lives. Dick don't you remember what you said when asked why you sought and obtained a record number of deferments during VietNam? You said, "I had other things to do". Shame on you. Let heroes have their day.

Makes perfect sense.

The enemy thrives on people like yourself. They love to see the division amongst Americans and the possibility that our resolve might weaken. That's exactly what they want and they enjoy watching it.

Youre full of it. You know what WOULDNT be dividing? A president that does not make obviously stupid decisions.

We're not divided for the sake of being divided. We're divided cause theres a damn good reason.

Its sheep like you that think that we should have blind faith in our leader now matter how many bad decisions he makes that are the REAL problem.

Didn't Pabster already do that himself? He's pissing and moaning about how the enemy wants us to be divided in the same paragraph that he accuses techs of supporting the enemy. And why? Because techs thought that maybe using Veteran's Day as a stick to hit your opponents with is poor taste. I see only one source of division here, and it's the "you're with us or against us" clap-trap from people like Pabster. Techs didn't say anything remotely divisive, but Pabster (and you, apparently) had to come charging to the rescue anyways.

He didnt say Techs supports the enemy. He said the enemy thrives on people who like to divide the country like Techs.

And I dont see me laughing at Umbrella falling into the perfect example of Pabsters point as a defense of Pabster. Pabster is a big boy, I am sure he can more than handle any lib on this msgboard.

I don't care for a unified front for the benefit of the enemy if it means agreeing with you. Unity is not something I ever care to achieve so long as there are supporters of this ill conceived romp. The enemy thrives on people who like to divide the country. Fits the supports of Bush and his war like a glove. Thankfully this war loses more and more support every day.

My mistake, Pabster was only suggesting that Techs was helping the enemy thrive by suggesting Bush's use of Veteran's Day as a stick to hit Democrats with was in poor taste. If that's all it takes to accuse someone of helping the enemy thrive, divisive almost sounds like a compliment.

If you're going to laugh, laught at Pabster too. If only because he had a perfect example of what he was bitching about in his own post.

It's really funny how militant right-wingers think this country is divided for no reason at all. We are divided because more than half this country does not support this war. We want to bring our troops back home and end this unwinnable fight. We would like to redirect our military efforts and MONEY elsewhere where we can combat terrorism more effectively. That is the reason for division.

People like you Genx and Pabster are what's wrong with this country. You can't think for yourself, so you go along blindly with what politicians tell you. That is why this country is in such miserable shape today, too many people have bought into this administration's lies. I'm glad that people are finally waking up and realizing this now, even if it's a little late.

Yeah, I'm sure your average Al Qeada member is hanging out on ATPN or the NY times web site gainings strength from our lack of Bush-worship.

You can choose to be part of the problem, or part of the solution. It's a damn shame so many here choose the former.

No, and I never suggested they did

My point stands. When the enemy sees icons like Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin running around spewing anti-American anti-War venom, they take comfort in the fact. Believe it or not, people DO see what the politicians in this country are saying and it does have an effect. What effect, you say? Demoralizing our brave troops at war, and providing aid and comfort to a ruthless enemy.

Most Americans don't care what Ted Kennedy says, so why should some guy living in a hut with no running water in Iraq care?

Yes, they will see that horrible kennedy man asking for the people to longer provide the terrorists with recruiting fuel by no longer supporting the WOT, then flip the channel to orielly encouraging the terrorists to blast certain american citys to smithereens dividing our country.

Hmm who is supporting the terrorists.

Where do you draw the line between legitimate criticisms of Bush or his methods in the War on Terror and being anti-American? That's the problem with this argument, it always sounds like ANY criticism of the President or how he does his job is being anti-American. Even in a time of war, democratic debate is a crucial part of our country...so where do you draw a line?

You're half right, the part abou the guy living in a cave. However about half of Americans are in general agreement with Ted Kennedys policies, since they are virtually the same as John Kerrys. And living next to Massachusettes I can tell you the running jokes about Kennedy are completely off base. He has been a hard working, patriotic Senator and a great representitive of the people of Massachusettes.

Where do I draw the line? I draw the line when we're not talking about criticism of Bush or his policies but rather of our troops and the efforts we are undertaking.

Ted Kennedy's Anti-American Slander

As for Dick Durbin, his infamous comments comparing our soldiers to Nazis and Soviet Gulags are well documented as is his lame attempt to apologize for them.

These people are not engaging in healthy criticism relative to Democracy; Rather, they are engaging in a calculated effort to demoralize our troops, undermine our efforts on the war on terror, and provide aid and comfort to those who wish us nothing but harm.

I directly quoted it for you. Ill do it again.

The enemy thrives on people like yourself. They love to see the division amongst Americans and the possibility that our resolve might weaken. That's exactly what they want and they enjoy watching it.

Youre implying that it is the division itself that is hurting the country. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.

What then, is the solution my friend, if people like me are the problem? Should we just stand behind the president NO MATTER WHAT, just so the enemy can see our iron clad resolve?

Because when I saw that speech today, I was truely sickened. I realized most of what he was saying could just as equally been said about himself.
