If Bush has been consistent on one point, it has been his steadfast commitment in having the fortitude to make difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions...leadership is not a popularity contest, and sometimes a leader has to make tough decisions in the face of crisis.

The problem with Bush was that many of his decisions proved both unpopular and in some cases reckless or irresponsible.

Had it not been for 9/11, Bush probably would have been an unremarkable and perhaps one term President.

I find it interesting that the Bush Administration did not collapse under the intense pressure of its failings...we have many recent examples of politicians falling to pressure in a rather spectacular manner when under intense scrutiny.

Bush is not a dynamic speaker...there was a certain arrogance to his Administration...but I think the decisions he made will take a different light once people remove themselves emotionally from his Presidency.

Reagan is about as far from the bottom of the list as a President can get. As for Nixon, he was actually a quite capable President. It is unfortunate that his legacy will forever be tainted by Watergate, but he did the honorable thing by stepping down.

I am not saying that history will magically forgive Bush, but how Obama handles Iraq and Al Quaida will certainly play a factor in how history judges Bush.
