Bush Really Did Win...................

we really shouldn't be giving Al Gore a hard time... after all... if it weren't for him, we wouldn't be posting in this forum right now.

It was still a screwed up election and this new finding does little to remove the tarnish created by the ambiguous outcome of Florida's vote.

The country is still divided along party lines. Republicans and Bush supporters still think that Al Gore was responsible for the stink of the election. Democrats still think that events worked against Al Gore and his supporters. Even if you support Bush, you have to admit that the process did not work well, though we would never know that if it hadn't been such a close race.

I would like to see people from both sides of the fence find things to agree upon, rather than finding new ways of recycling the same old jibes.

<<Of course he won, he's been in office since January>>

LOL 🙂

As far as the Bush really did win thing, I saw an article a month ago +/- that read "Gore really would have won." I think this is just one of those things that will always be debatable and will never be solved one way or the other.

But the analysis also found that Gore would have won by three votes if the recount had continued under the standards advocated by Bush supporters.

Seibel noted the irony in that fact.

"The irony, of course, is that the Bush people were always saying you can't count those things," said Seibel. "And the Gore people insisted that they would. But in these counties, it particularly benefited Bush."

not really, i guess you didn't read far enough.

While the analysis showed the Bush would have won if the court-ordered recounts under way at the time of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling had been allowed to continue, it was not a clear win for the GOP.

The study also looked at four scenarios in which the entire Florida undervote was counted ? something that was not ordered by any court ? and found that Gore would have won under two of those.

So i guess you could say.. that conservative media bias is coming through again with those eye grabbing headliners. Nothing new at all.

none of this matters, he is in the white house, its not like its up to us to decide. Its a good thing he is in office too... we were getting spoiled, good economy, environment getting cleaner, no wars, etc. The republicans have a lot of work to do.

<< Maybe Bush won in FL and in the electoral college, but more people voted to make Gore President >>

that doesnt matter... electoral college is the way to keep the elections.. an election by popular vote would make all the power fall on two or three states...

I guess you never heard that the more populated a state is the state gets more votes in the electoral college. Your quote is in one word "incorrect."

yes but that would leave most power of the election in one or two states.. meaning small states would have no power.. remember that power of the states in one of hte main keys of the constitution... and one of our countries probs is taking power away from states and people and giving it to federal government.... electoral college is there for a reason.. and it would be a HUGE mistake to take it away

Bush is ok, I'm a libertarian and voted for him because I didnt want gore as president.

Reagan had a great 8 years. The economy was great, help defeat the evil empire, fought some small wars but nothing serious. Remember he said "are you better off than you were four years ago" and people were so he was re-elected.

Best of all he kept his hands off the interns!

Yeah Zuchini.......I did! You're just a very biased person whom can't see beyond your views!🙂 Every media has now reported this story so how is it only "conservative spin"?????????/😉 And the "Undervotes".........what should they do, go have a fortune teller predict whom the person may have voted for????🙂 Man I can't stand people whom always have to think they are correct no matter what the facts are!:| Open your mind a bit.........you may be suprised!
