Every federal official ? including the President ? who takes an oath of office swears to ?uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Bush: "It's just a goddamned piece of paper".

"Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, while still White House counsel, wrote that the ?Constitution is an outdated document.?"

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says he cringes when someone calls the Constitution a ?living document.?

?"Oh, how I hate the phrase we have?a 'living document,?? Scalia says. ?We now have a Constitution that means whatever we want it to mean."

Republicans, you have got to rein in Bush before he ruins your party for the next decade or two.

I posted this like a year ago, I never heard chimpolean actually say it in a recording, but capitol hill blue isn't exactly major liberal, they kinda bash on whoever is in power, there are some nasty clinton stuff they wrote about too..

Still it is a amazingly stupid thing to say, but bush is a cocky little prat.

If he did say it who cares imo he is just a 'goddamned sorry excuse for a leader soon to get the boot I hope if america has any sanity left' so screw em.

the reason you never "heard it" is because the entire story is pure fiction... it was probably written as an entry to a short-story contest!

It is not much farther then saying other things he has been caught saying on tape, this is surprising to you?

Feel free to provide debunking links. I have yet to see one. I dare ya.

An online rant from someone who talked to someone who heard bush say...

Heck give me 15 minutes I could go write a web document that says just the opposite.
The reason living constitution makes some cringe is because liberals have used it to say lets create things and Interpet them too todays views. Even though they are never mentioned in the constitution. Its called Judicial activism.
can you provide a reliable link to Gonzales quote? I would like to look at it.

Not sure about the first two comments, but Scalia's comments sound spot on, and unfortunately he's 100% correct. That's what Conservatives (most, anyway) are trying to change, and why Bush has appointed two strict-constructionists, originalists, textualists (Scalia's preferred term), or whatever you want to call them to the High Court.

Using a dictionary to figure out what to debunk something means would be a great start.

hey genius, "debunk" basically means to prove something false. So again, how the hell does one go about "debunking" fiction!? Fiction, by it's very definition, is something falsified and/or created from thin air... as in "not real."

So it would be folly to "debunk" that which is already false.

GG!

Hear that? that's the sound of people laughing at your folly! lol...

Doesn't cut it either, now if there is a AP story on it then that might provide a shred of credibility.

I never said it was true in the first place, I said IF. paleass is just owning himself not making sense.

I don't think he has anything insightful to say in this thread though, just being his usual anti- self

how so? I simply said that without any form of respectable proof, I consider the entire story ficticious, and the OP a troll. You then went all grade-school on me regarding the word "debunk."

I wouldn't be suprised to hear you quoting this story as the basis for some future argument against Bush...

As was said above, provide an AP link or go home.

Provide a link debunking it or quit whining, still waiting...

Your word does not carry much weight being a anon internet poster.

BTW this is not my thread so complain to the OP. ;)

the entire point is that there is no need to "debunk" a story in which the link itself does that for you!

And I would expect my word as an "anon internet poster" to be the equivilent of the OP's link itself.

hello? hello? is this thing on?...

So why should anyone here believe a word you say? You think you are a "special" case?

Provide a debunk backing up your OPINION on the matter or your posting what you think is false is immaterial.
