Guys, the point is not money spent on AOL or the demographics of AOL users, it's the fact that it's a non-scientific study of 34,000 Americans. Ok, what does that mean? JACK SQUAT. MSNBC.com has their own poll with well over 300,000 that mostly vote for Kerry. Ok, what does that mean? JACK SQUAT!

No need to bask AOL users, but even you have to admit this is far from scientific. Its not a random sample at all.
No, its not. All these polls should be taken with a grain of salt. But a poll doesn't simply become "good" or "bad" because of the results.

The only one saying that is you. We're saying that its "bad" because its unscientific. Just like the one on MSN is "bad" because its unscientific.

LOL. Wait ignorant people pick Bush in a landslide? Grats Bush, too bad Bush thinks AOL has something to do with him not showing up for duty in Alabama.

It's estimated that AOL still has around 22 million active users. Down from high of 35 million a few years back but that's still a lot of people. Of course many of them are under 18 so can't vote anyway.
And those OVER 18 have the intelligence of rocks.

I can't tell you how many people still subscribe to AOL dial-up when they have broadband because they think they still need AOL to surf the Internet.

Mind-boggling.

Another reason to hate AOL and think that the people who still subscribe to AOL are idiots.

I remember when I went with my Dad to pick out a computer for him, the sales guy said "Oh and you get a free 6 months trial of AOL so you can surf the web" He made it seem like you can't surf the web unless you had AOL. Thats AOL's marketing strategy, to try to ingrain in first time or elderly computer users that you need AOL to surf the web. It seems to be quite effective as they're still alive.

As for this poll and any other poll, i just usually ignore it. Its not going to influence my vote and since I don't work on Bush or Kerry's election team, I don't care.
