this video made it to news like nyt, boston globe, cbs, etc.

Khaleej Times:
HONG KONG - ?The Da Vinci Code? and ?Mission: Impossible III? may be dominating the box office, but one of the most popular movies online is a six-minute film shot apparently with a mobile phone showing a grumpy man scolding a fellow bus rider in Hong Kong for interrupting his phone call.

saw that a week or two ago. guy pisses me off so badly. i was hoping the young guy would kick his ass. >_<

So much better if you know cantonese and familiar w/ the HK culture. Otherwise you won't know what the fvck those 2 guys are talking about. And the subtitle doesn't help much 'cause it doesn't translate the slang correctly.

Ps. That old guy talks more than he drink tea. Pull a gun out and put a bullet in his face.

The translation is horrible. The guy in the back pat the "uncle"'s shoulder. In Chinese/HK culture, it means "curse your dad to hell" when you pat someone in the shoulder.

But the old man is absolutely a nut job. Not like the other guy's attitude is helping neither.

I saw that too. I was like damn.........it was even on the FRONT PAGE of wsj.

the highlight of Bus Uncle since he came out of closet:

- a steakhouse offered him a PR job.
- got busted for hookers in china
- got beat up

He says a few f-u

I dont understand it but my friend translated it... bring the guy here.. he'll probably stab to death in ny subways

lol. the translations don't do it any justice cause cantonese is very hard to translate to english. hilarious if you understand it.

translation is really terrible. colloquial chinese cannot be translated literally. fck u should really mean screw u. although in a couple lines, fck you was actually used literally in reference to his mother...

well yea.. pressure is a crude translation. its like pressure/burden/obligation ? but the literal translation is pressure.
