Bus driver doesn't need a gun. NSFW

Striking a bus driver while he's driving should be a major criminal offense as well. You're putting the lives of others (including pedestrians) at stake.

"You wanna act like a man? I'm going to treat you like a man!" - Bus Driver

While I don't condone the act, that statement has some validity to it.

He should have just stopped the bus and called the police. Guaranteed she would have acted foolish enough to the police to get arrested.

There must be laws preventing someone from physically attacking a bus driver while he operating said bus, she could have easily caused a crash, at that point he might have the right to subdue her and remove her from the bus, kinda hard to drive one safely if your getting punched in the face..

I don't believe there are any such laws in my state. In any case the bus was stopped when she hit him, if she did, and he didn't merely "subdue her and remove her from the bus," he beat the hell out of her. I know my transit authority does not permit drivers to touch passengers unless in necessary self-defense, and that isn't what this was - he left the seat to pursue and punch her. Leaving the seat alone is a cardinal offense for a bus driver for reasons of safety and security.

How is this anymore than a fight? I don't see any felony charges coming out of this as both were willing participants. Do you see it differently?

No, I agree, "self defense" would not apply unfortunately as she hit him and then walked off, but how can he deal with her and not leave the seat?, if he starts rolling the bus again she could easily launch another attack. Maybe his best bet was to park it and wait for the cops..

Definitely a feel good story, I felt good watching it but it's hard to understand what was going on. It looks like she hit him first.

The bus driver is probably in trouble with the law now unless there is some kind of stand your ground provision in that state.

We should set up a donation web site for his defense.

He didn't stand his ground, he moved over to her for the strike. Whether it was retaliation or not, he's probably facing assault (and battery?) charges.

He's certainly no longer employed.

If this was in Florida all the bus driver would have to do is claim he feared for his life and he could have killed her.

wow, that bus driver was wrong. that was crazy.

OP needs to change title to: this is why bus passengers should carry guns

Legally wrong, yea, he's gonna get in deep shit for this, but this little bitch deserved it, once you swing on someone all bets are off, male or female, don't want to experience my uppercut? keep your hands off me moron..

Women are so funny. They wanna be treated like a man and think they can do all that shit, until they get their ass beat for mouthing off or realize they can't do a man's job 'cause all they're good at is spreading them legs open.

With that said, the operator will be suspended during investigation. Hopefully he won't get fired if his union rep is hella good. It's just so hard being a nice guy when bitches treat you like shit.

she hit him first.

i have no sympathy for her. she didn't think he would do anything. to many females think its ok to hit and act like that. fuck that.

Its the double standard woman have become used to. They act even more retarded around a lot of men thinking they would never hit a girl, and I'm all for the guy doing what he did. Woman wanna be treated equal when but only if its in their favor

She should be charged for physically assaulting and battering him (if she did - it is impossible to tell from the video alone because the view is obstructed by the guy in the orange vest).

He should be charged for physically assaulting and battering her. He did not act in self defense and there was not lawful justification for his actions. His battery was considerably more violent then hers as well. He should (and will) be fired as a bus driver.

The fact that they were "willing participants" has no real bearing in this analysis.

Speaking as a taxpayer, this is a must-fire situation. This guy lacks the temperament to be a bus driver and represents a danger to himself and the public.

What should he have done in that situation?

She won't leave the bus peacefully and she went up to him and hit him. Would your response be different if it was a guy instead of a girl? :S?

Hold her down while someone call the police.
